16 May 2019

Almost half of 2019 is already gone and with May upon now us, you may be looking ahead to your summer holiday.

So, what better time than now to treat yourself to a cheeky last-minute break? We’ve pulled together some suggestions for an impulsive May holiday...

Dubai (UAE)

Cities don’t get much more lavish or larger than life than Dubai. It is home to the world’s tallest building, the biggest indoor theme park, the second largest mall, the largest choreographed fountain, not to mention the biggest Cheesecake Factory on the planet.

One of our favourite Dubai hotels is the JA Ocean View. Situated on Dubai’s only beachfront promenade, this chic and stylish four-star resort offers a wealth of memorable leisure experiences for refined travellers, with elegant décor in gentle marine tones, along with furnished balconies and Arabian Gulf views.

Indulge in enticing restaurants and bars, admire the sunset during a dip in the temperature-controlled infinity pool, top up your tan or treat yourself during some retail therapy on The Walk at JBR. Access to the exclusive Coral Lounge comes as part of the package for guests staying in certain rooms and suites, which brings with it perks such as afternoon canapes and happy hours.

For families, younger guests are accommodated in the shaded outdoor play area and teens’ club, whilst couples can enjoy an intimate ‘Bateaux Dubai’ dinner cruises across Dubai Creek or a selection of treatments in the hotel spa and beauty salon.

We currently have a couple of amazing offers for the fantastic JA Ocean View:

You’re spoilt for choice when it comes to premium accommodation in Phuket from the calm sanctuary of Banyan Tree to Keemala’s one-of-a-kind bird’s nest villas.

Kantary Bay Hotel is another great option. This charming sea-front property offers spacious, fully furnished studio suites or larger one- and two-bedroom suites with a separate living area and kitchenette. Add in impeccable service, scenic gardens, two swimming pools, a fitness room and a 15-minute drive into Phuket town and it’s easy to appreciate the appeal of the Kantary Bay Hotel. Mauritius (Indian Ocean)

It may resemble as a long-lost relative of the Caribbean, with more than 300 kilometres of white, sandy beaches caressed by the Indian Ocean’s blissfully warm waters.

However, Mauritius is more than just another inviting beach destination, with its dramatic picturesque volcanic peaks, wilderness areas and various terrains. You’ll find plenty of activities for all fitness and ability levels, which can be easily arranged through the resorts or tourist hubs.

Anyone heading here would do well to bag a stay at the Victoria Beachcomber Resort & Spa. Nestled between the capital Port Louis and the popular resort town of Grand Baie amidst tropical gardens, the Victoria Beachcomber Resort & Spa is a magnet for those who like active pursuits, due to being Mauritius’ only PADI Green Star™ (eco-certified) diving centre, offering complimentary water sports and privileged access to the 18-hole Mont Choisy Le Golf course.

Families will love it here for the spacious rooms and family apartments, which guarantee space and intimacy thanks to their two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The beach-based kids club hosts children between the ages of three and 11 every day with different playgrounds and a wide range of complementary activities in the open air or under a tent to the joy of young guests. Older kids can look forward to the Teenager Program, which holds disco nights for 12-17-year-olds, allowing them to mix their music, share and exchange their photos on social media and meet new friends.

Views of the Indian Ocean can be enjoyed from each of the 255 rooms, suites and apartments, while swim-up rooms offer all the amenities needed for a romantic tropical getaway opening directly onto a generous 800 square-metre open-air swimming pool.

Victoria Beachcomber Resort & Spa is also a great couples’ retreat with 40 adult-only rooms opening onto a private beach, some with swim-up access, and an adult-only lagoon pool swim-up bar and steakhouse.

Departing 25 May 2019 for 7 nights | Family of 4 from £4,899 Total
