When it comes to luxury villas, there’s no shortage of options, but with so much to choose from, how do you decide where to stay? Well, we’ve pooled the knowledge and expertise of our Travel Counsellors to make a list of our personal favourites.
It’s really no surprise that Sandy Lane - one of the Caribbean’s most prestigious resorts - has secured a place on this list.
The resort contains more than 100 hotel rooms and suites but it’s a stately five-bedroom villa that really sets Sandy Lane apart. Guests are driven to the villa’s exclusive entrance and into the private courtyard with champagne on arrival. This stunning 7,300 square-foot luxury villa comes with its own team of staff: a butler, housekeeper and chef, dedicated to ensuring your every need is met, as well as a private pool, oversized Jacuzzi and complimentary use of a luxury vehicle throughout your stay.
Green fees at The Country Club or The Old Nine are waived, and each villa guest also gets unlimited use of the nine tennis courts, motorised and non-motorised watersports, and the Fitness Centre at The Spa in addition to a $100 spa voucher.
The villa boasts beautifully manicured tropical gardens and mahogany trees with the stately Palladian building’s cool coral stone walls characterising Sandy Lane with quirky architectural details such as stone-carved pineapples and pillars.
“I was lucky enough to go and visit Sandy Lane - one of the most exclusive hotels in the Caribbean. It is really beautiful and sits on a gorgeous beach with very well-equipped rooms.”

Set to the charming backdrop of Phang Nga Bay, Six Senses Yao Noi comprises premium villas of all shapes and sizes. But it’s the newly reopened The View that is the jewel in this resort’s crown. As its name suggests, this revamped one-bedroom villa offers breathtaking views from every point in the villa and a panoramic 360-degree view of the surroundings and the iconic limestone karsts of Phang Nga Bay.
Among the new refinements at this ultra-spacious villa is a generous infinity-edge pool with netting hammock-like extensions, a private cinema, sunken dining area, mezzanine floor, fitness studio and a pool shack - a cocktail master’s dream, where Martini lovers can shake or stir up their own James Bond moment or whip together a ‘cocktail of the day’.
Enjoy your lunch from a floating tray in the pool or a barbecue dinner served by a private chef in the sunken dining area after pre-dinner drinks overlooking a romantic reflection of the sunset on the bay.
Perched on a small hill overlooking the Mirabello Bay, Thalassa Villas promises a warm welcome, authentic Greek hospitality and unforgettable experiences, all wrapped up in the serenity and privacy of Crete.
The Grand Villa Anemos is a three-bedroom luxury spa villa that comes with stunning views of the Aegean Sea, and a wealth of high-end amenities geared to deliver an enhanced villa experience, such as a large private terrace garden, private heated infinity pool with hydromassage jet and marble-lined bathroom.
Guests at these eight luxurious villas have access to all of the amenities at the neighbouring St Nicolas Bay private beach resort, such as the Labyrinthos and Blue Bay restaurants, Poseidon Spa and fitness centre. Additionally, the village of Elounda and the renowned Spinalonga Island are less than 10 minutes away.
You don’t need to be a James Bond fan to appreciate the Fleming Villa – the place where Ian Fleming dreamed up the infamous secret agent and one of the most loved characters to grace page and screen. Fleming even admitted that he doubts his 007 novels would have been born had he “not been living in the gorgeous vacuum of a Jamaican holiday.”
Seclusion and privacy are the main focus at the Fleming Villa. Not only is it tucked inside a lush garden behind tall trees and tropical bush, it has its own private beach, private pool, self-contained gardens and a dedicated resident butler, cook and housekeeper, who will arrange for anything you’d like to do during your stay.
With enough space to sleep up to 10 adults, each of the villa’s three bedrooms (a master suite, queen-sized bedroom, and twin bedroom) has its own large, tropical garden bathe area with claw foot tub and a garden shower.
Despite its emphasis on being hidden away, there are no limitations on what you can get up to here with a vast range of activities, restaurants and spa treatments available across the wider GoldenEye resort in which the Fleming Villa sits.
After kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, sailing, snorkelling or coming face-to-face with more than 700 species of fish in a glass-bottom boat, you can refuel at the treehouse-style Gazebo lounge and restaurant, overlooking both Low Cay Beach and the Lagoon. You could also head on over to the FieldSpa on the edge of the GoldenEye Lagoon for a Swedish aroma massage or a revitalising treatment.
“GoldenEye is a magical place where you can put a little distance between yourselves and the rest of the world. The lifestyle there is pure Jamaican in rhythm and tempo.”
