Award-winning wellbeing

Wellbeing is big at Pine Cliffs and one of the major draws at the resort is its Serenity Spa, which was named the best in Portugal at 2018’s World Luxury Spa Awards.

Pine Cliffs’ spa set itself apart from the competition due to its experience showers, sauna with Himalayan Rock Salt, ice fountain, relaxation areas, indoor hydro pool, a water treading Kneipp pool, steam bath, herbal sauna, outdoor jacuzzi and Hammam Turkish bath.

Guests can step up their wellbeing improvement efforts by opting into a programme that sees Pine Cliffs’ team care for you during your entire stay. Some of the schemes on offer are Digital Detox, Yoga and the Harmonization of the Chakras, Fitness Journey, Self-Healing, and Awakening of Senses.

There are of course the customary treatments that focus on the face and body, as well as male grooming, hands and feet, and serenity massages.

Collectively, Pine Cliffs was named the World’s Leading Luxury Leisure Resort at the 2017 World Travel Awards, as well as six-time winner of Europe’s Best Family Resort. The hotel itself has also secured World Travel Awards’ Best Golf Hotel in 2017.

Luxury accommodation

The opulent accommodation at the Pine Cliffs Hotel is categorised into five types. The Premium Deluxe Room and Premium Grand Deluxe Room can occupy couples and parties of two, whilst up to four guests can stay in the Premium Junior Suite and Premium Duplex Suite. All of these rooms come with a rainforest shower, and a private balcony or terrace - a remarkable place from which you can admire the gorgeous Portuguese sunset.

Finally, the most spacious option – the Premium Neptuno Suite - goes all out with a master bedroom that boasts a walk-in wardrobe and terrace access, broad living and dining areas, high-speed Wi-Fi, and a split-level private balcony.

Every room and suite at the Pine Cliffs Hotel is furnished with a signature The Luxury Collection bed, crafted by local artisans and blessed with an elaborate hand-painted tiled headboard.

Stay active

Active types can take advantage of the six swimming pools, Annabel Croft Tennis Academy with five floodlit courts, a nine-hole golf course, and the gym and health club. Guests can also go jet-skiing and kayaking, or take lessons in wakeboarding, surfing, water skiing, and stand-up paddleboarding. Meanwhile, young ones can be kept busy at the Porto Pirata Kids & Junior Club.

Culinary brilliance

Guests at the Pine Cliffs Hotel can venture out to the wider Pine Cliffs resort in search of culinary brilliance, and there’s no shortage of remarkable cuisine here.

Amongst the many dining options are the Piri Piri Steak House, the seafood-focussed O Pescador, the health-conscious Zest, Maré at Pine Cliffs with its views of the Algarvian coast line, Yakuza Algarve by Olivier – one of the Algarve’s finest Japanese restaurants - and Jardim Colonial - the hotel’s main restaurant, which offers al fresco dining in its characteristic courtyard.

Elsewhere in the resort, a light bite or thirst-quenching beverage at the poolside Corda Café is accompanied by serene golf course views. The classically-styled Portulano Lobby Bar is a fine place to sample local spirits such as the sour almond-based liqueur amarguinha or one of Portugal’s world-renowned Port wines.

Perhaps you’d prefer to get more involved with your food? The Mimo Algrave cooking school lets you do just that, with a schedule of internationally renowned cooking classes, wine tastings and family activities. It’s the ideal opportunity to learn about local and haute Michelin-star cuisine, and sip wines from all over the world in a fun, hands-on environment.

“This wonderful property is a destination in its own right - it’s the perfect place to retreat and the Mirador famous champagne bar is THE place to relax for a sundowner.”
