Holidays with heart, planned like they're my own
Hi, I’m Jacob, your Personal Travel Counsellor. I live on the Wirral with my husband, our dog and our little girl, although my roots are in sunny Margate, so I’m proud to look after clients across both the North West and Kent. Travel has been a huge part of my life (both professionally and personally) and after more than 14 years in the industry I still enjoy discovering somewhere new.
I've been lucky enough to live and work in Turkey, Spain and Greece before returning to the UK, where my career has taken me through TUI and Hays Travel. I managed successful branches in Heswall after previous roles in Canterbury, Cheshire Oaks and Chester, before moving into the world of luxury, tailor-made travel. That experience reinforced something I'd always believed as well: great holidays come from understanding the people travelling and not just finding the cheapest deal.
Today, I create bespoke holidays across Europe, the Caribbean, the Middle East and the Indian Ocean, as well as luxury cruises, city breaks and multi-centre itineraries. I work with couples, families, solo travellers and groups, taking the time to understand what's important to them before making recommendations. Every itinerary starts from scratch because no two clients travel in the same way.
I've watched the Northern Lights dance across the Icelandic sky, stood beneath the Eiffel Tower, the Leaning Tower of Pisa and Chichen Itza, relaxed on the white sands of the Virgin Islands, wandered the streets of Oia in Santorini and cruised the Caribbean and Mediterranean. Every trip teaches me something new that I can pass on to my clients.
Florida is one of the destinations I know best. I've visited five times and have built up first-hand knowledge of Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Orlando Resort and the wider Orlando area. Disney holidays are one of my specialisms. I regularly help families plan everything like choosing the right Disney Resort hotel & understanding Lightning Lane or dining reservations, ticket options and how many park days they really need. If Universal Epic Universe is on your list, or you're thinking about adding Disney Cruise Line or a Caribbean cruise to your holiday, I can help you decide what works best and what's genuinely worth your money.
Alongside my wider travel business, I co-founded SEN.sational Escapes with my husband Luke, a SEN-qualified Early Years Manager. We support families travelling with autism, ADHD, sensory needs, hidden disabilities and complex dietary requirements by helping plan ahead. That could mean arranging airport assistance, speaking with hotels before arrival, requesting suitable room locations or making sure the right support is in place before you travel. It's often the small details that make the biggest difference.
But enough about me. The first question I ask isn't where you want to go, it's what you want from your holiday. Once I understand that, I can recommend destinations, hotels and experiences that fit. Some clients want complete luxury, others are planning their first Disney holiday, a special cruise or a once-in-a-lifetime trip. My job is to make the planning straightforward, give honest advice and be there before, during and after you travel.
If you're looking for a Personal Travel Counsellor on the Wirral or in Thanet with experience in luxury holidays, cruises, Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando and accessible family travel, I'd love to help you plan your next adventure.

Does Disney World Have FastPass? Everything You Need to Know About Lightning Lane
One of the questions I’m asked most when helping clients plan a Walt Disney World holiday is does Disney still have FastPass? Disney World no longer has FastPass. Instead, it now uses a paid queue-skipping system called Lightning Lane. If you’ve started researching your Disney holiday, you’ve probably come across terms like Lightning Lane Multi Pass, Single Pass and Premier Pass… and wondered wha

The Greek Island That Didn’t Look Anything Like I Expected
When I first arrived in Santorini, I genuinely thought I’d made a mistake. The side of the island where the ferry docked was brown, rugged and volcanic. It looked nothing like the picture-perfect Santorini I’d seen in magazines. Then I reached Oia...

Twelve Summers Ago, Turkey Found Me
Let me take you back to 2014. The year of the ice bucket challenge. The year of Ellen’s Oscar selfie...and the year a 21-year-old, fresh-faced version of me packed a suitcase and boarded a flight to Turkey to work abroad for the very first time.

Iceland: A Winter Break Full of Surprises
A few years ago, Luke and I decided it was time for our first cold break together, a mini adventure to Iceland! We were both buzzing with excitement: geysers, the Blue Lagoon, the Northern Lights… and most importantly (for me, anyway) snow. Ever since I was little, I’d dreamed of that picture-perfect Christmas scene (the kind you see in festive films where everything is blanketed in snow). Of co

5 HOT HIDDEN Winter Destinations Under 6 Hours
As the October half-term approaches, many of us start hunting for a bit of winter sun, but some favourites like Majorca can dip into single digits and much of Europe follows suit. If you want to escape the grey without spending long hours on a plane (or repeating the same old Canary Islands routine), here are five lesser-known, genuinely warm places I personally recommend, which are perfect for fa
