Opera Holidays

There’s nothing quite like a night at the opera. These works have stood the test of time and each new performance brings new life to these masterpieces. I work with some of Europe and the world’s leading opera venues and festivals to create unforgettable holidays with opera right at the heart of it.

One of the most sought-after annual events is the Puccini Opera Festival. Taking place in Torre del Lago in the heart of Tuscany and close to the Tuscan town of Lucca, birthplace of Puccini. Under its perfectly preserved 16th century walls are pleasant gardens, and inside the medieval streets, under the shadow of its towers, stand some beautiful Romanesque churches. The most outstanding of which is San Michele in Foro, a perfect example of Pisa-Luccan architecture. Throughout the festival, some of Puccini’s most loved operas are performed in a stunning location. This is an absolute must for any opera lover.

Venice is of course a firm-favourite amongst opera lovers. Venice boasts a rich history, iconic canals and a wonderful opera programme including future performances of La Traviata, Macbeth and Othello.

Vienna is a city famous for its music and where better to enjoy it than in the very grand State Opera House and in the Theater an der Wien where many of Mozart’s operas were first performed. Forthcoming performances include Madama Butterfly, Don Giovanni, La Bohème and Le Nozze Di Figaro.

Packages include flights, private transfers, category 1 or 2 tickets and ATOL protection. Airport parking and lounges are also available too. Please either call 01452 855 433 or email martin.ross@travelcounsellors.com for more information about forthcoming operas.
