Abu Dhabi

Travel Counsellors congratulated its top performing ‘Gold Travel Counsellors’ by rewarding us with an exclusive weekend to Abu Dhabi. The weekend was hosted at the 5* Fairmont Bab Al Bar which has a beachfront location. The rooms were very spacious with either views of the city or the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. The hotel had an abundance of restaurants, bars and fabulous facilities. I would say that it is more suitable for the business traveller rather than the leisure. However it has a great location at the mainland gateway to the City.

Abu Dhabi is an up and coming destination; just an hour’s drive from Dubai and to date is not as developed as Dubai. There is plenty to do, take a city tour and soak up the local culture and visit the Mosques, take a trip out to the dunes or the new Waterworld Park. If you want to get your adrenalin going then visit Ferrari world, the world’s largest indoor theme park located on Yas Island. Here they have the world’s fastest rollercoaster which goes from 0-150mph in 4 seconds…I went on this and never again it took me a day to recover! Or if you are into F1 then you can take a tour around the famous Yas Marina circuit.

Abu Dhabi has lots to offer as a stopover destination or longer stays. For longer stays I would suggest Saadiyat Island where the beaches and blue seas rival some of the best in the World. Like Dubai, Abu Dhabi is a perfect place for all round sunshine and ideal as the flight is just seven hours too.
