Marbella

The reason for my visit to Marbella in November was the Travel Counsellors annual conference - how lucky was I?!

We stayed at the Gran hotel Guadalpin Banus which is a 5* hotel with a prime beachfront location only 15 minutes walk along the beachfront to Puerto Banus. Puerto Banus is especially recognised for the elite and cosmopolitan and you can often spot a famous person dining in one of the exclusive restaurants around the marina, or hanging out in one of the local bars.

The hotel is modern and the rooms are furnished to a very high standard with plasma TV, Hi Fi systems, mini bar and so on.. There is a great choice of restaurants to choose from and I can highly recommend the beach bar, with superb fresh fish and a great place to watch the sun go down.

Whilst in Marbella I took part in an adventure tour which was so much fun. It was up in the stunning mountainous area. The activities included archery, mountain biking, orienteering, rock climbing and driving a 4 x 4 around cones whilst blind folded! So if you are looking for an active day out I would highly recommend this.

If you want a fun night out why not try Olivia Valere nightclub. It does not really get going until late but it is amazing, with a real Moroccan feel, 4 poster beds upstairs around the dancefloor, fantastic music to suit all tastes and there are so many different rooms you can go into. This also seems the place to be for famous people to ‘hang out’ including the likes of Mariah Carey to name one.

Considering it was late November we were very lucky with the weather, 21 degrees every day and not a cloud in the sky.

With regular, cheap flights from the majority of regional airports, Marbella represents the ideal destination to spend a long weekend or more relaxing in the sun. There is something for everyone of all ages.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you need anymore information or would like me to plan your break away.
