Pretty Parga

It had a been a long time since I had holidayed in Greece and I thought it was about time I did so. We booked a very last-minute holiday to ‘Parga’ which is in Greece’s north-western Preveza region. We stayed in a small hotel studio apartment/hotel just about a 15-minute walk from the centre of the town.

The town itself is a very pretty little town, boats in the harbour, tavernas spill out onto the cobbled streets and whitewashed houses in the steep hillside. The scenery is quite breath-taking. You can hire boats at a very reasonable price and go along the coast and stop off at little hidden coves, we did this, and it was a great day out.

Parga town has its own little beach, or otherwise you can use the water taxis to go to the long stretch of sandy beach ‘Valtos’ or even walk there. From Parga itself you can use the water taxis to alternative beaches or even book day trips to other islands, like Paxos and Anti Paxos. It was a fabulous day out and an opportunity to go to other islands. You can even have a day trip to Albania.

I found prices very reasonable in Parga for both food and drinks. There was an abundance of beautiful restaurants/bars and nothing was ‘tacky’ this is why I loved about the place.

There is so much to do in Parga whether you wanted a 7 night or 14-night holiday. Accommodation can vary from standard to boutique style hotels so there is something to suit everyone’s budget.

It is a hidden gem for sure that not a lot of people know about and I will be returning there for sure.
