Across thirteen fascinating days in northern India, reacquaint yourself with the romance of travelling on the country’s fantastic rail network. Starting your tour with an overnight stay in the colourful and exciting metropolis of Delhi, you’ll then board the remarkable UNESCO-listed ‘Toy Train’ for a wonderful journey into the mountains to Shimla. Over the next couple of days, you’ll enjoy a guided tour of Shimla and also have some free time, offering you the opportunity to travel further into the Himalayas for majestic views towards the higher, snow-capped mountain peaks of the world's tallest mountain range. Leaving Shimla behind, it’s back to Delhi for two nights.

Take a rickshaw ride through the narrow streets of Old Delhi and immerse yourself in the real India with visits to the Jama Masjid - India's largest mosque and Raj Ghat - a memorial to Gandhi. In New Delhi, take a sensational sightseeing tour exploring the city’s leafy avenues and impressive colonial architecture, and visit the India Gate war memorial, the grandiose Rashtrapati Bhavan, Humayun's Tomb and Qutab Minar - India's tallest stone tower. After Delhi, it’s on to Agra. On arrival into ‘The City of Love’, visit the imposing Red Fort before travelling across the city to the Taj Mahal – undoubtedly one of travel’s most illuminating and memorable experiences. Your tour then moves on to the deserted city of Fatehpur Sikri, once capital of the Mughal Empire, before a three-night stay in Jaipur. You’ll begin your stay in the 'Pink City' with an exciting sightseeing tour where you’ll discover the grand City Palace, home to the current Maharaja of Jaipur. You’ll also visit the Amber Fort on elephant back - a truly magical experience and one that you will no doubt take your breath away.
