New York

New York is an amazing city to visit, not only for the great sights, museums and shopping but also for the incredible, indescribable buzz that hits you the minute you arrive!

I’d been to NY before but I wanted to share a girlie weekend there with my Mum and my daughter Megan to celebrate her birthday. We started with an open-top bus tour which you can hop on and off as often as you like. It’s a great way to establish the geography of this vast city and takes in many of the major sights.

Then we took the Staton Island Ferry to see the Statue of Liberty close up and to get that classic view of the Manhattan skyline that is best seen from the rear of the boat as you leave.

After a horse-drawn carriage around Central Park, we went to the top of the Empire State Building to take in the breathtaking views and, of course, we did plenty of shopping!

Our Sheraton Towers Hotel was in a great position for shows, restaurants and shopping, being just a short walk from the fantastic atmosphere of Times Square and Central Park. For an extra-special trip, take a limousine transfer!

A fantastic break in an unbelieveable city!
