CLIA Cruise Convention 2015

One of the great things about the conference was that the seminars were hosted on-board three different, equally amazing cruise ships - Princess Cruises' Royal Princess, Royal Caribbean's Anthem of the Seas and P&O Cruises' Britannia. Not only did we get the hear about developments and updates in both ocean and river cruising, it was also a great opportunity to meet new suppliers, catch up with old colleagues and to hear inspiring and motivating presentations from some of the industry's leaders.

The three day conference included time to look around the three beautiful ships as well as having time to dine in one of their beautiful restaurants.

As well as being great fun, the conference was great for taking the time to find out what is coming up next for cruising - and there are lots of things to look forward to!

I am particularly looking forward to the arrival of Carnival Vista which will launch in 2016 with a whole host of fabulous innovations and a plethora of dining options. I can't wait to try out the new SkyRide which is a strap-in and ride bike course high above the deck and the multiplex cinema featuring an IMAX Cinema and a Thrill Theatre. Carnival Vista will also feature an amazing brewery that churns out its own microbrew options.

Other new ships for 2016 include Holland America's MS Koningsdam and Explorer from Regent Seven Seas.

Conference highlights included the Innovation presentation by Royal Caribbean's Dondra Ritzenthaler and the Q&A session with one of P&O's food heroes the very funny and charming Eric Lanlard.

It was certainly worth taking the time out of the office and I learnt so much about different brands and products and made some fabulous new contacts.
