24 Hours in Singapore

I love Singapore - it has to go down as one of my favourite cities, the people are friendly, amazing hotels for all budgets, great food and lots to see for both adults and children.

This trip I dotted in and out of Singapore three times over a few weeks, a stop the day before my Christmas Cruise, another day before my flight to Sydney and then an overnight and day stop on my way home to London, but I still crammed in loads so whether it is a quick stop on route to Australia, a few days pre cruise stay or a longer stay Singapore has it all.

I stayed at the Marina Mandarin located in the Marina area of the city a good location walking distance to Marina Bay area with the Famous Merlion, and the Long Bar at Raffles Hotel for a Singapore Sling, plus surrounded by shops if shopping is your thing. I also stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Clarke Quay on my way back to London, this hotel is a short 5 minute walk from Clarke Quay with a huge choice of bars and restaurants which is also where you can get a boat trip around the Singapore River. The hotel also has a roof top infinity pool so you can swim looking out across Singapore.

What can you do in 24/48 hours - Singapore Sling in Raffles - Open Top Hop on Hop off bus - three different routes to choose from each one taking around 1.5 hrs - Designer shopping on Orchard Road - Boat trip around the Singapore River (45 minutes – 1 hour) - Marina Bay and see the Merlion - Drinks on top of the Marina Bay Sands – it is expensive but the views across Singapore are amazing - Marina Bay Gardens - Botanical Gardens - Universal Studios at Sentosa island - Singapore Flyer

As you can see there is so much to see and do in Singapore it is great for a longer trip too.

Would I recommend Singapore? Definitely !
