Island Paradise
We couldn't fly all the way to Mauritius and not see Mauritius so we hired a car for two days. Driving is on the left and the roads are well signposted and in good condition. We explored the island and visited the giant turtles and crocodiles. We saw waterfalls, mountains and sugar plantations, villages and Hindu temples. We lunched in the buzzing capital Port Louis and took a tour of the famous post office where the first British colonial postage stamps were issued in 1847. Back then the postman used a bicycle.
With our sightseeing completed we returned to our resort content to spend the remainder of our holiday chilled out on a sun-lounger, sipping cocktails.
We loved Mauritius and highly recommend it for honeymooners and families
