Vegas, baby!

Las Vegas. Sin City. Where do I begin? Before visiting Las Vegas the first time, I was sceptical and really had no desire to travel here. “What’s all the fuss about”, I thought! It turns out, it’s one of those places you’ll never forget!

Finding myself in Vegas the first time, thanks to my Dad’s wedding - well, actually two weddings that week in fact -my whole perspective of the city changed. There really was something for everyone from young to old. It’s a pretty crazy place, don’t get me wrong. I mean, where else would you join a bride (in her wedding dress) to board a roller coaster through and around a hotel. The weddings were fantastic, from a unique chapel at the Luxor to a little white chapel on the strip and the receptions afterwards, including a dueling piano bar, will never be forgotten!

Having been back only a few months, I was saving for my next visit the following summer. This trip was all about SHOPPING (and sightseeing)! It was August, 40 degrees - just how I like it. So the air conditioned casinos drew us in but a few lucky slots later and we walked back out into the sunshine with our cash prize to the nearest margarita bar! There are miles and miles of shops to help you empty your pockets here, or designer outlet malls to help your money stretch further. I just about made it home with just the one suitcase... honestly, I know you don’t believe me! One of the highlights of this trip was hiring a Ford Mustang and driving out to the hoover dam, which I’d highly recommend! The shows in Las Vegas are also second to none. The Lion King... did I cry? Yes, okay I did!

Now the third trip was a once in a lifetime VIP trip with my good friend Becky. We lived it up. We had to outdo all previous trips. This was the big one! We arrived into Las Vegas international airport, limousine waiting to escort us to Caesars Palace. Now are you even in Vegas if you don’t quote The Hangover when checking into Caesars “You probably get this a lot. This isn't real Caesars Palace. is it?”

It’s August again (a sucker for the heat) and so we made a beeline for the pool - one of the best in the city - and began to plan out our week. The pool party at Wet Republic to see Steve Aoki, check. A helicopter through the Grand Canyon, check. Old town Fremont Street casinos, check. Let’s go get photos at the Welcome to Las Vegas sign, check. Then which shopping malls have we got time to visit, which nightclubs shall we do and more importantly where do we stuff our hungry (read: hungover) faces with food. We couldn’t have planned it better if we tried. It’s still always a hard trip to beat and I’d say to anyone to give Vegas a try just once. Who knows what could happen. Well, anything really but what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!

Now someone fetch me my limo... ;)

To book a holiday that you’ll never forget, please get in touch and I’d be delighted to help.
