Jamaica Gold

This trip to Jamaica was a conference for all the Gold travel Counsellors plus I could take my husband. It is not my first time at the Half Moon hotel in Montego Bay; I actually stayed there for my special birthday in 2012 in one of the suites which was closer to the facilities. The hotel is vast, so vast you need golf buggies to get about. In the villas we stayed in we were allocated 2 gold buggies per villa. The hotel has its own Equestrian centre and has two miles of beachfront and a 18 hole par 72 championship golf course.

The villas where we stayed were far from reception we had our own butler, maid and cleaner. It was a 7 bedroom villa with its own pool. We shared with fellow TCs and luckily we all got along! The trip was only for 5 nights and we had a lot to fit in this time.

Breakfast was served in the villa with the butler putting everything out for us; pastries, breads, cereals and taking our egg order. With plenty of coffee to wash it down. If we needed drinks or lunch we could pay the butler to go shopping for ingredients and he would make up lunch for us

I did treat myself to a spa treatment the spa was closed due to renovations but they managed to do this in one of the cottage rooms, and played a bit of tennis.

We attended lots of cocktail parties at Sandals Montego Bay on the beach ( gosh the runway is close great for plane spotters), a white & gold party at Secrets Montego bay (amazing food) and the beautiful Round Hill Villas (wow factor).

We even managed to have a go on the Cool Runnings toboggan at Mystic Mountain in Ocho Rios. The ride takes you through rain forrest and you control the speed .There is a zipline here to at Mystic Mountain plus a sky explorer chairlift which takes you above the treetops. We stopped at Scotchie's on the way back for some traditional Jamaican food which was delicious.
