6 star cruising for the weekend!

Caroline Howden on 31 January 2020
I was lucky enough to be invited to spend a few nights on board Regent Seven Seas newest ship Splendor. I along with a small group of Travel Counsellors travelled to Ancona Italy where she was built, onto Dubrovnik for some time ashore, a fabulous day at sea in the sunshine and then ending in Rome where sadly we had to leave to come home.

This time on board gave us the opportunity to explore the ship and get to learn all about what is on offer. Splendor is the sister to Explorer. Very similar but with a few small differences. The colour scheme is very calm and relaxing, pale colours, high quality furnishings and beautiful original artwork on board.

Splendour is just 55,000 tones with only 750 passengers and 542 crew, 14 decks (no deck 13) of suite accommodation and public areas. A wide range of suites all with a balcony, the very highest grade is the amazing Regent Suite. This incredible 2 bedroom suite is 4000 square feet in size and includes a grand piano as well as your own spa bathroom. Other than this suite there are 14 other grades of suites - something for everyone.

This new ship is all about 'subtle luxury' or 'relaxed elegance' I felt a very calm atmosphere on board, lots of space to enjoy the ship both inside and out.

All tastes are catered for with dining on board - 3 main dining areas Compass Rose, Pool Grill, La Veranda which becomes Sette Mari in the evening. Also on board are 3 restaurants that require pre-booking - Chartreuse (French) Prime Seven (Steak) and Pacific Rim (Eastern) along with that you can of course dine in your suite - all included.

Plenty of venues on board to relax as much as you wish - Serene Spa & Wellness, The Library, The Pool Deck and The Sports Deck. In the evening enjoy shows on stage in the Constellation Theatre or spend time in one of the main bar or lounge areas.

The most important fact about Regent Seven Seas is that are truly all inclusive - the price you pay includes all drinks, on board gratuities and an extensive excursion program. The only items you would need to pay for would be the shop, casino and the spa. Often flights are included and pre-cruise hotel accommodation is included and free or reduced price business class flights. These benefits can vary according to grade of suite you chose.

As well as Splendor and Explorer Regent Seven Seas also have Voyager, Mariner and Navigator. Between them they offer cruises all year round to the: Caribbean and the Panama Canal, Northern Europe, Mediterranean, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, Africa and the Middle East and Alaska.

I have chosen a few photographs from the weekend to show you what the ship has to offer. If you would like to know more about Regent Seven Seas please do get in touch.
