Celebrity Edge

I was lucky enough to be amongst a group of Travel Counsellors invited to spend two nights onboard this newest addition to the Celebrity Cruises fleet during her maiden call into Southampton in May.

What can I tell you about Celebrity Edge - she was launched in November 2018 with 2900 guests at 129,500 tons.

Multiple dining venues offering you a wide range of places to eat - anything from a light snack through to a gourmet 7 course tasting experience. 7 of these carry a cover charge and suite guests have exclusive use of the Luminae Restaurant -plenty of areas around the ship to dine which are free of charge - 4 main restaurants - Normandie, Cosmopolitan, Tuscan and Cyprus not forgetting the extensive Ocean View Café.

Don't forget to visit the Magic Carpet - this amazing new feature is a platform that moves between decks - this can be somewhere for a drink, or an evening meal when it becomes Dinner On The Edge (cover charge applies) or simply a way to get on and off the ship when in port.

There is so much to do and see whilst onboard, 16 bars and lounges onboard, 9 entertainment areas including a 2 tier theatre, Eden a multi-use area, an internet lounge, Camp at Sea for the younger cruisers, outside deck areas with pool, sunbeds and jazuzzis and so much more. Not forgetting a choice of shops and ways to keep fit or just indulge yourself in the Spa. Or of course you can find a place to sit and watch the world go by - many places around the ship to do that.

Cabins onboard Edge offer a wide range to suite all tastes and budgets. You could really spoil yourself with the Iconic Suite and 2 level suite that can take up to 6 people in 2 bedrooms or chose from various suites which give you exclusive access to the Luminae restaurant and the Retreat area (a quiet area to rest and relax), or maybe various grades of balcony cabins including Aqua, Concierge and the new Infinity Balcony cabins. These have a new design which allows the 'doors' from the cabin to the balcony fold away to bring the balcony into the cabin and also the top half of the balcony front folds down, a great way to let the outside in. Not forgetting a selection of standard inside and outside cabins to enjoy. There really is something for everyone.

Celebrity Edge will spend the summer of 2019 in the Mediterranean offering 10- and 11-night fly-cruises from Rome before re positioning to the Caribbean for the winter season.
