Discover the luxury of Oberoi Hotels & Resorts

From superb dining to tiger safaris, Oberoi Hotels & Resorts are iconic locations synonymous with India – as you’ll find out in the new Channel 4 show Grand Indian Hotel, which starts on 25th March 2024. In fact, this group which began in 1934 now has properties across seven countries and is a globally renowned luxury brand. We’ve highlighted some of our favourites around India and what makes them so special.

Discover the luxury of Oberoi Hotels & Resorts

The Oberoi Amarvilas, Agra

This property couldn’t be more beautifully located, being just 600 metres from the Taj Mahal, the world’s greatest monument to undying love – something that makes it perfect for a romantic break (amazingly, all rooms and suites have unrestricted views of the Taj). Its elegant design, inspired by Mughal palaces, includes fountains, reflecting pools, pavilions, and terraced lawns. You can also book spa treatments accompanied by Taj views and dine on both global and authentic Mughal cuisine.

The Oberoi Rajvilas, Jaipur

In beautifully landscaped gardens, with traditional architecture, reflection pools, and flaming mashaal torches, this unique property includes luxury tents inspired by the era of the maharajahs, plus authentic Rajasthani dining in addition to upmarket international cuisine. Its setting is pure magic, too – Rajasthan’s famous walled Pink City of Jaipur. Among the experiences on offer here are high tea or sunset cocktails at Naila Fort, a leopard safari, or a tour of some of India’s vineyards.

The Oberoi Udaivilas, Udaipur

Set in lush gardens on the lakeside in Rajasthan’s ‘City of Lakes’, this property has an intricate layout of interconnecting domes and corridors that reflect the layout of Udaipur itself (the city’s seven lakes are linked by canals). As well as being a great base for exploring the hilltop forts, palaces, temples, and gardens of the one-time capital of the Kingdom of Mewar, the hotel is a great place for a retreat, with daily yoga, personally tailored spa therapies, and signature cuisine in fine restaurants.

The Oberoi Vanyavilas Wildlife Resort, Ranthambore

The luxury tented accommodation here is inspired by the opulent caravans of royal families and sits within Ranthambhore National Park. The hotel is well placed for exploring Ranthambhore Fort, a vast UNESCO World Heritage site overlooking the park, dating back 1000 years. Again, there’s both Rajasthani and international dining at the hotel, plus customised spa experiences.

The Oberoi, Mumbai

This property stands out for its modern architecture and Marine Drive setting, ensuring you have glorious views of the ocean and the 'Queen’s Necklace' lights along the shoreline.  The sleek rooms and suites have vast windows to take advantage of these views, and there are several restaurants, including Ziya by Michelin-starred chef Vineet Bhatia, who has deconstructed and reinvented classic Indian dishes into modern masterpieces.

You can stay at some or all of these properties if you book your epic India trip with a Travel Counsellor. As just one example, we can take you to The Oberoi New Delhi for a guided tour of the city’s historic highlights, then by train to Agra. From there you’ll drive to Jaipur via Fatehpur Sikri, experiencing its highlights, including the Jantar Mantar ancient observatory, before driving back to Delhi to round off your stay at The Oberoi Gurgaon.
