Gold Travel Counsellors Trip

This year our Gold Travel Counsellors Conference took place in Ras Al Khaimah (RAK for short) which is one of the seven member states that make up the UAE. RAK is a great destination for families as unlike Dubai, a lot of the properties offer an all-inclusive programme. Depending on traffic it can take from 45 minutes – 1hr 15 mins by road from Dubai airport. It offers pristine beaches, clear sea, nature and a truly relaxed atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle of the city, fast going pace of Dubai. There is stunning nature with terracotta deserts and high mountains which make it a unique destination with year-round sunshine.

For our Gold Travel Counsellors trip, we stayed at the beautiful 5*Waldorf Astoria in RAK which is situated on the private Al Hamra Beach. There is an abundance of activities available to suit all whether you want to just flip and flop on the beach or motorised water sports, Kayaking in the mangroves, Desert safaris, golf, mountain biking or even experience the infamous world’s longest zipwire which is around 2 miles long and can get up to speeds of 90mph.

The hotel itself is very spread out with spacious rooms which are suitable for families, couples and singles. The staff were very attentive and there is a choice of ten stylish restaurants and lounges to eat and drink including a swim up pool and great waiter service on the beach also.

Whilst in RAK I was lucky enough to visit some of the other fabulous hotels, Doubeltree by Hilton Resort & Spa Marjan Island, Rixos and the Ritz Carlton which were also of a great standard.

We had a night at a Bedouin Camp, enjoyed sundowners whilst watching a falconry show, followed by entertainment and dinner in the desert which was a memorable experience.

I would not hesitate to recommend Ras Al Khaimah and please don’t hesitate to contact me for any further information or if you would like me to organise a holiday here for you.
