Costa Blanca winter sun and catch up with friends

I've been visiting Benidorm for holidays since I was a teenager with my parents. It's image has changed over the years and appeals to both young and old. Sometimes media coverage doesn't give it the best image and I'm sure it is a love or hate place but personally I'm on the love side.

I've stayed in many types of accommodation, both apartment and hotel and will continue to try different ones to give clients my personal feedback.

One we've just been back to in March is Sandos Monaco. It's an adults-only hotel close to the old town yet walking distance to the beach and nightlife of Levante. The food is plentiful and of good quality and choice as are the inclusive drinks. All staff, from the bar to the restaurant, reception and cleaners friendly are professional. They have a lovely spa on site which you must pay separately for but a lovely experience.

We have a few friends who live out in Spain, and this time experienced how quick and easy it is to escape the pace of Benidorm and see other lovely resorts along the Costa Blanca. We met some friends in Albir where we enjoyed a Chinese meal with drinks for under 13 euros a head, and can recommended completely. Also, we met other friends in Creueta enjoying traditional Tapas along the beautiful coast.

It was only a short visit to Spain this time around but it’s now on the list to visit again and take the train along this beautiful coast.
