Cunard Queen Victoria 4 night Amsterdam

Cunard has always been on my wish List as she is such an Iconic ship , and the brand is 200 years old how amazing is that !!she has a new ship joining the fleet in may of 2024 . I had a 4 night cruise to Amsterdam and went from Southampton , as soon as I went near to the dock I could see this amazing Red & Black Funnel , so Iconic, so exciting .

On board I was greeted by staff as we got on all looking gorgeous in there uniforms , found my way to my Cabin and I had a Britannia Club balcony and it was very spacious , lovely bedding and a good shower , so once my luggage was brought to my cabin I was out ,exploring the ship . The Atrium of the ship is the hub and it had a beautiful sweeping staircase and a ship on the wall , telling you where you were , port or starboard.

We set sail at 6 pm and I always love a sail away , Music , a drink in hand and excitement to be starting off on an adventure 4 nights to Amsterdam . A change and a coffee back in my cabin , and also they give half a bottle of bubbles which I think is a lovely touch but will have that another day . Dinning was at the queens grill , fine dinning at its best , starter , main , dessert , delicious , I am a pescatarian so the fish was gorgeous .

So a night at sea and we went off to a show in the most impressive theatre at sea, they even have balcony’s , you felt like you were watching a west end show , very talented performers. Then off to the cocktail bar at the compass bar .

Tomorrow afternoon we sail in to Amsterdam . After a lovely sleep , and a wonderful Breakfast , either served ,or buffet off to explore Amsterdam , the lovely thing about this cruise is you get 2 nights in Amsterdam , so no rush . We got off and went shopping and then went on a Canal boat trip which is a great way to explore Amsterdam and only 10 euros , it was the marathon so a good move I feel as not so busy on the water .

Back on board we got ready to dress for the Gala night and it really was a lovely atmosphere with a String Quartet playing in the background , again a lovely night of amazing food , a wonderful show and a cheeky Expresso Martini .

The next morning I ordered room service as we had an early start , it came on time , and Tea , toast and marmalade and Earl Grey and fruit perfect , I sat on the balcony and watched the sun come up , so special .We were going to a 13th century fishing village with green and white cladded houses , and a cheese factory , unfortunately it was raining but it was still lovely to see the Dutch countryside . I really do think the Dutch people are so friendly .

So back on board around lunch time and ready for my Afternoon Tea , perfect , I do love afternoon tea , with white star service makes it even better . There was also a talk in the Theatre from a former Red Arrow , how interesting , I learnt so much , so our last night so off to have a silent disco so a bit of a dance in the Ballroom , it is such fun as everyone is dancing differently .

I really did have the best time , Great destination for a short break , wonderful food , amazing service and entertainment and such good value for money . Thank you Cunard , i certainly will be recommending you to my clients ... until the next time
