Lapland Day Trip Mum & Son Magical Festive Day out….. Our adventure began on the 23rd December 2022 when I surprised my youngest Olly with a day trip to Lapland as you can imagine he was so excited, it was an early start. On being greeted at the airport for Santas magic flight this was when every little magical moment began. Our flight from Manchester was approx. 2 hours and was filled with festive fun activities and food. The approach to Lapland and views where breath taking (amazes me how they can land a plane in such snowy icy conditions when the roads in the UK grind to a halt in this type of weather) After disembarking the plane we where greeted by some cheeky naughty elves who took us straight away to get us fully dressed in the thermal snowsuits, gloves and boots all provided. Then our coach transfer took us out on the search for Santa. On arriving at Santa’s Village we had to pinch ourselves on how magical it was, my son was straight away throwing snowballs creating snow angels, we first entered the igloos with some amazing ice sculptures and of course the ice bar (of course mum had to have a cheeky glass of fizz) We began to explore further where we found the reindeers, huskies, sledging and football activities and of course the all important snowmobile stop to go deep into the woods to find Santa where all the children receive a gift from Santa and there are hot mulled wines served around a roaring camp fire. We took part in all activities husky rides, reindeer rides, snowmobile rides. It was truly an unforgettable experience a memory that I know with live with my son for the rest of his life. Before heading back to the airport we could enjoy plenty of time playing in the snow and a nice hotel meal and hot chocolate before our journey home. Also before departure we visited the shop and bought our usual fridge magnet (we collect these every holiday) and our cuddly husky. I was blown away with then experience, views and atmosphere worth every single penny and a must do before your children grow up too much. It was a full busy enjoyable day and my son was fast asleep after all the excitement before we took off back to Manchester.

Hi Everyone and welcome to my first blog hope you enjoy and please comment and share your own personal stories. My passion has always been travel this is why I have now decided to set up my own travel business after 25 years in the industry working for many big companies. Running my own business is allowing me to explore the world more, learn more and get to know my clients better and create new friendships. This is something I thought I would never do but always wanted to hence “Never say Never” this leads me to tale about my 10 year old son Olly: Olly loves our holidays and every year we visit The Algarve (plus other places but with great difficulty of me convincing him every time we have to try more destinations but I always have to keep the promise we will go to The Algarve as well) May 2023 New Destination Santorini I convinced him as these photos show and a little insight to our holiday below: • Arrived at our hotel, Olly’s first comment” it’s a small pool mum”, by the end of the holiday” I love this pool I get it to myself most of the time and sea is only there when I want to hunt for pebbles” Win for Mum. • No restaurant at hotel have to go out, Olly not impressed, After walking out along the front “wow mum look at all these places, there is lots and that man is so funny” (the guys outside the restaurant inviting us in) Olly couldn’t wait for our adventures day and night looking for the best places to eat. Another Win for Mum. • Day trip to see the sights: You can imagine no mum I want to stay by the pool, anyway I got him out and we visited Thira such a gorgeous iconic place with amazing photo opportunities. Olly said “ Its such a nice place mum and we saw all those cruise ships and that cable car ride was brilliant” Yet again a Mum win” • At the end of the holiday Olly didn’t want to go home he loved every minute of it, the weather, places, restaurants, bars, the people and not forgetting the pool and the sea. We will definitely be going again we stayed Bed & Breakfast in the resort of Perissa and can highly recommend to anyone whether couples, on your own, with friends or families. Santorini is now on Olly’s list of favourite places. Check out my Facebook page for more photos, deals and stories follow me at www.facebook.com/angelamurphytravelcounsellors
