My name is Carmel Curran and I live in Derry/Londonderry in NI. I am married to Mark and we have a lovely daughter Marissa.
Before becoming a Travel Counsellor I worked in front-line banking for 32 years. However travel has always been my passion! For the last 40 years I have travelled the world, both as part of a couple and also as a family and becoming part of Travel Counsellors means I can bring my own personal experiences directly to my customers. My journey as a TC started in 2018 so I have been in place during the pandemic and now out the other side. This has given me a good perspective on how to make travel as safe as I can and this fits right in with Travel Counsellors ethos.
As you would expect, I love to travel! I have visited most of mainland Europe and its islands, the Caribbean - Jamaica, Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Mexico as well as Egypt, Dubai and Sri Lanka. My personal favourite is South East Asia - Singapore, Bail, Cambodia, as well as lots of trips to Thailand and Malaysia. My new favourites are Hong Kong & Vietnam! I have visited New York on several occasions and I also love European city breaks. As well as personal travel, I have also made business travel arrangements.
When I am travelling to any destination, I love the research, planning and booking almost as much as the travel and holiday - getting all the handy tips - its all part of the experience.
