Mexico 2022 - Travelling with a baby

Charlotte Temple on 11 November 2023
So, this was our first holiday as a family of 3, our son was born in March 2022, and we decided to go to Mexico in November 2022. We had been twice before so knew we loved it and wanted to have those amazing memories with him as well!

First flight for a 7month old. 10hours 30minutes with TUI. We may have bitten off more than we can chew BUT, it was amazing. Everyone was very understanding, the crew were great and it is all about being organised; lots of toys, snacks and blankets for naps! If you have small children and you are thinking of going on holiday do not let the thought of getting on a plane put you off as this is only the smallest part of your holiday

We arrived in Mexico and knew we had made the right decision. The hotel was perfect, and the beach was beautiful, 11 nights on the Caribbean coast was a dream. We spent lot’s of time on the beach and visited two of the parks while there; Xcaret and Xel-Ha. These parks were great for our son as everything you needed for a baby was on hand and there was so much for him to see and do! I do not know about you, but I was not swimming in a cenote at 8 months old.

We felt very safe in Mexico and went into Playa Del Carmen via taxi for dinner and shopping twice along with evening trips to the local shops and bars by our hotel. Getting out in that area of Mexico was extremely easy, the hotel was always happy to call a taxi for us and guide us to the best places to visit.

We could not have dreamed of a better first holiday for our son and are so pleased we did it while we were so small as those memories are something we will cherish forever. If you are thinking of travelling with a baby, do it!

Deciding not to travel with kids because they will not remember is like not reading the books because they will not remember the stories you read them.
