Thank you for visiting my web page. My name is Daniel and I am based in Market Harborough, Leicestershire. It is a great location but very different to where I was born and brought up in Kenya.
Since completing several degrees in Travel & Tourism and Hotel & Hospitality Management, I have worked in the travel industry. For the first 4 years I worked in the leisure sector before switching to business travel of which I am in my 19th year. In this time I have gained a wealth of experience in both sectors which enables me to find the most cost effective solutions for all travel requirements not to mention the many supplier relationships I have built. I am very passionate, proud and firmly believe in excellent customer service and follow the philosophy of treating people in the way you want to be treated.
Being a Travel Counsellor has given me the opportunity to run my own business. Working remotely allows me to have access to the latest booking tools and therefore I can give a truly ultimate personal service dedicated to your company as all communication will be dealt by me 24/7, so you can always be rest assured that you will be dealt with promptly and efficiently by someone that knows you and your companies requirements first hand. I can also focus on the individual travellers, to give them the best possible start to their next meeting; making sure every little detail is accounted for. I believe that as part of the service industry - by going above and beyond, this is not a privilege but a right.

Dream Destination Mauritius

Crystal clear seas, tropical beaches, great food, that's what you can expect when you travel to the island of Mauritius. A tropical island where they only know summer and winter and where the temperature always fluctuates between 25C-30C degrees. The most crystal-clear blue seas can be found in the north of the island. All over the island you can do all the sea activities from snorkelling to diving, deep sea fishing, to kite surfing, to even swimming with dolphins. You can do a beautiful sunset catamaran cruise. The sea has plenty to offer. If you want whale watching visit the island in the summer, and this is mainly seen on the west coast. Apart from the sea activities, there are plenty other land activities and excursions you can do around the island! There are several golf courses on the island, some of which are championship courses. You can go cycling and hiking or enjoy a day of culture and shopping in the capital Port Louis. If you want a little action, then you pay a visit to the park Casela. They offer activities like quad and buggy excursions through a mini safari park where you can see rhino, ostriches, zebras, kudu, waterbuck and antelopes. You can go ziplining or for the less adventurous, there is a walk-through aviary, petting farm, and giraffe feeding platform amongst other activities. The Cuisine of Mauritius is beautiful and varied! It is a blend of European, Chinese and Indian influences and the seafood is to die for! All hotels offer various meal plans, or you can always try a local restaurant if you want something different. Mauritius believe or not is known for its Rum. Sugar cane is the main crop on the island dating back to the 19th century. Mauritius today houses four distilleries (Grays, Medine, Chamarel and St Aubin). If you like your wines, this is the place to be. Numerous hotels have their own wine cellars and offer tastings from around the world. You can even have wines that accompany your meals for every course. The hospitality of this island makes it complete. The people are very friendly, and all have a great sense of humour. There is a beautiful and colourful mix of races that completes this destination, and this represented in the national flag. The is a beautiful sunshine and beach destination to visit all year round!

Serendipitous welcome introduction to Daniel Porter has resulted in excellent professional assistance regarding bespoke memory lane adventure for my 83 year old father and nephew to Kenya and Uganda. Daniel booked us the most fabulous honeymoon to Namibia. In the weeks leading up to our trip, he communicated with local providers finding the best places for us to stay and accommodating all of our requests. The trip itself was one to remember, full of excellent. Hotels which suited our needs perfectly. The activities suggested by Daniel were exciting and gems in their own right. His thoughtful touches of ensuring champagne at hotels, best rooms for a honeymoon and checking up on our experiences made the trip all the better. It is a trip that my husband and I will remember for many years to come, and one which would not have been a special without Daniel‘s help.

Dan is a true lifesaver to me for all my travel needs. I'd be truly lost without him. He sorts everything for me - from the best deals on flights to seat preferences (due to my leg) to utilising my accrued points to get the best deals - he also organises my wheelchair and fast track services. If there are any changes required by me or the airlines; 'No problem, all sorted Anne' is always the response. He really takes all the stress away! Based on my experience, he is the Travel Counsellor of my employer. With my emergency holiday my boss contacted him right away and he give us an excellent service with in minutes and my flight was booked even though it's peak season. I was able to get flight and came back safe and sound, even my check in /boarding everything is taken care of. I would definitely recommend him to everyone I know who travels. Thank you.

Travel Counsellors were recommended to me after friends of mine had used them and I had been given Daniel Porter‘s name.
Daniel arranged my hotel stay at Diani Sea Resort at Diani Beach in Kenya for myself and two children. He got me the best deal and always kept me up to date with the booking. Daniel was very good at paying attention to detail. He was great and couldn't have done enough for us. I had lots of questions for him and he always got back to me promptly with the answers. He was fantastic.
Needless to say kids and I had a fantastic holiday and loved the hotel. We will definitely be going back and I'll be using Travel Counsellors again.
