Stunning Maldives
We visited this island as part of the ‘Gold’ trip 2022 ahead of the official opening date on 2nd of June.
The flight was with Qatar Airways which I have never flown before but I was impressed with the food and service and would not hesitate to travel with them again.
A short speedboat transfer (20 minutes) to the island and first impressions were great as greeted at the jetty by an enthusiastic welcome with the friendly staff clapping and singing!
This is a 4 star family friendly resort and although the resort was not fully open we could see the potential. It is quite close to the capital, Male and although convenient, does not give the remote feel that you would get further away/sea plane transfers and some of the room types do face Male and the tall buildings could clearly be seen.
We stayed in the Beach Villas facing the lagoon and opposite sister hotel, Select Lobigili and they are spacious enough with a double bed and sofa bed. The bathroom is quite large with 2 sinks and out door rain shower.
Other room types include the Water Villas which were spaced quite close together so not entirely private. Family Ocean View rooms with 2 bedrooms (one with bunks)
There is only one buffet restaurant which in my opinion is excellent with a wide choice of British and Asian food with small change each day to keep it interesting. Attentive and friendly staff making juices to order and a brilliant choice of salads and deserts.
In addition to the buffet restaurant there is an underwater restaurant which is not part of the all inclusive and although not finished/open we did view the space and it will be stunning once completed.
Over water gym on the property if you feel so inclined and a spa offering various massages and treatments.
Kids Club wasn’t open but had a pool and looked spacious.
In conclusion, this is resort is ideal for young couples and families looking for a lively resort at entry level prices for the Maldives. Great value way to get the Maldivian experience for those on a budget.
Hotel visits to Oblu Sangeli which is an established 5 start resort and also Varu by Atmosphere which was also wonderful which stunning beach and crystal clear sea!
