Best Way To See The Northern Lights
Are seeing the Northern Lights on your bucket list?
I've arranged a wide range of trips for lucky clients wo have witnessed this
amazing spectacle, and was lucky to witness them myself this time last year on
a trip to Finnish Lapland.
The trips I create for my clients are about far more than just catching
a glimpse of the aurora - combining optimal viewing conditions with
exciting Arctic experiences, and some extra special accommodation where you can
view the Aurora Borealis from you comfort of your bed through your glass roof.
A balance of time to relax and take in the beauty of the snowy surroundings
with time to get active and a little adventure!
Here’s when to travel for the best chances across three key destinations:
Finland 📆 December – March
Deep winter brings reliable darkness, snow-covered landscapes and remote
wilderness settings. Finnish Lapland is ideal for glass cabin stays, husky
sledding, snowmobiling and quiet, immersive Arctic experiences.
Norway 📆 Late September – March
Northern Norway offers excellent aurora visibility, particularly around Tromsø.
For something more dramatic, Svalbard’s polar night delivers a truly unique
Arctic environment, with dog sledding and expedition-style activities.
Iceland 📆 September – April
Iceland pairs strong aurora potential with iconic natural highlights, from
waterfalls and glaciers to geothermal lagoons. It works particularly well if
you want to combine Northern Lights viewing with a broader winter trip.
If a Northern Lights trip is on your list, timing, location and accommodation
choice make all the difference. I’m always happy to advise on the most suitable
options based on how you want the experience to feel.
Please get in touch if you'd like to book with me and benefit from my expert
advice, planning and design of your perfect Northern Lights experience!
