A Slice of Paradise: My Stay in a Kuramathi Beach Villa

There’s something quietly magical about waking up in a Kuramathi beach villa. Stepping out onto my private terrace, I was greeted by the gentle sway of palm trees, vibrant tropical blooms, and the soothing chorus of island birds—nature’s own welcome to paradise.
Kuramathi’s garden villas are a true retreat: spacious, light-filled, and surrounded by lush greenery, they felt like our own little oasis. Every morning began with the soft scent of frangipani and a stroll along winding sandy paths leading to the island’s famed turquoise lagoon. The beach was never more than a minute away, yet the villa’s peaceful seclusion offered a welcome contrast to sunny days on the shore.
Life on Kuramathi quickly found its rhythm. We spent mornings snorkelling just off the island, where the house reef dazzled us with colourful fish and the occasional friendly turtle. Lunches were lazy affairs—whether sampling fresh fish at an open-air restaurant or relaxing with a tropical cocktail by the pool.
Afternoons were for true island downtime: a soothing massage at the spa, a dip in the crystalline sea, or cycling through the island’s lush interior. By sunset, we’d gather on the western tip of Kuramathi to watch the sky melt into pastel hues—a nightly ritual shared with friendly faces from around the world.
Evenings brought the culinary highlight of the day. While our Beach Villa package included amazing buffet dining, we couldn’t resist upgrading so we had full access to Kuramathi’s exceptional à la carte restaurants. Dining under the stars, toes in the sand, with flavours from across the globe, felt like pure indulgence.
What makes Kuramathi special isn’t just its paradise-perfect scenery, but the warmth and care in every detail—a team always welcoming with a smile, thoughtful touches waiting at every turn, and a sense of ease that lets you truly unwind.
We left Kuramathi with happy hearts and a phone full of sunset photos, already dreaming of our next adventure in this stunning corner of the Maldives.
