Top Ten European Cities for Photography

Jen Nelson on 27 June 2023
I have travelled to quite a few European cities over the years and really LOVE the architecture, city vibes and cafe cultures they offer. During the pandemic I decided to purchase a camera as photography has always been of interest to me. And I sort of feel that travel and photography go hand in hand. So, with that in mind, I downloaded an online photography course and taught myself how to (sort of) use my new camera. Now that I have my new camera, I have made a list of the top ten European cities I want to return to photograph in the future. I can't wait!!

Here are my current top ten European cities for photography:

1. Paris, France: The City of Love is famous for its stunning architecture, charming streets, and iconic landmarks like the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame.

2. Venice, Italy: The City of Canals offers endless photo opportunities with its beautiful canals, bridges, and colorful buildings.

3. Barcelona, Spain: This vibrant city offers a mix of stunning architecture, colorful street art, and lively street scenes.

4. Amsterdam, Netherlands: With its charming canals, historic buildings, and vibrant culture, Amsterdam offers plenty of photo opportunities.

5. Prague, Czech Republic: This historic city offers a mix of stunning architecture, charming streets, and beautiful views from its many bridges.

6. Santorini, Greece: This Greek island is famous for its stunning sunsets, blue-domed churches, and cliffside villages overlooking the Aegean Sea.

7. Edinburgh, Scotland: This historic city offers a mix of stunning architecture, charming streets, and beautiful views from its many hills.

8. Dubrovnik, Croatia: This walled city on the Adriatic Sea offers stunning views of the sea, charming streets, and historic landmarks.

9. Vienna, Austria: This elegant city offers a mix of stunning architecture, charming streets, and beautiful parks and gardens.

10. Budapest, Hungary: With its stunning bridges, historic buildings, and beautiful views of the Danube River, Budapest offers plenty of photo opportunities.

To me, photography is the art of capturing life in stillness and one of the best ways of cherishing our amazing memories.
