Magical Moments in Morocco

My recent journey to Morocco was an experience that delighted all the senses, the colours, the scents, the warmth of the people, and the endless variety of landscapes. From the maze-like streets of Marrakech’s medina to the calm of the Atlas Mountains, every moment felt like stepping into another world.

In Marrakech, I wandered through vibrant souks filled with spices, lanterns, and handwoven rugs, before escaping the bustle for mint tea in a tranquil riad courtyard. Just beyond the city, the scenery transforms completely, dramatic mountain ranges, palm-filled valleys, and quiet Berber villages where time seems to slow down.

My Top Tips for Visiting

- Stay in a riad: These traditional guesthouses are full of character and offer an authentic Moroccan experience right in the heart of the old towns. - Visit in spring or autumn: The weather is warm but comfortable, perfect for exploring or taking a day trip into the desert. - Embrace the food scene: Try tagine, couscous, and fresh orange juice from the markets, and don’t miss a rooftop dinner at sunset. - Learn a few phrases: A friendly “salaam alaikum” or “shukran” (thank you) goes a long way with locals. - Pack light layers: Evenings can be cool, especially in the mountains or desert, so a light scarf or jacket is handy.

Morocco is a destination that stays with you rich in culture, full of contrasts, and endlessly photogenic. Whether you’re wandering Marrakech’s winding lanes or watching the sun set over the Sahara, it’s pure magic from start to finish
