Wonderful Namibia
My colleague, Zoe and myself took a group of wonderful clients to Namibia in November 2025.
One of the best countries for wildlife and adventure as well as beautiful scenery. Namibia has it all.
We started our trip in Windhoek for one night, just enough time to eat at a superb and very reasonably priced steakhouse, called The Stellenbosch Wine Bar and Bistro. Steak and wine are very cheap here so both me and Max were happy with one each!
We then headed to Sossusvlei, and stayed at Le Mirage Resort & Spa, which is an oasis in the desert. From the hotel we watched Oryx, desert foxes and ostriches just wonder by. The meat eaters also tried some of the local wildlife, which I hear was tasty! The group had a hot air balloon ride and we all attempted to climb Big Daddy, a huge and quite challenging sand dune!
Next was Swakopmund, the adventure capital of Namibia and a really lovely albeit chilly town! We loved the ambience and restaurants here - such a cool vibe to the city. We stayed at the centrally located Swakopmund Luxury Suites.
We took a seal, pelican and dolphin cruise and not only saw all three, we also had a seal join us onboard. I also had a heart stopping moment later in the day, as Max decided to do a sky dive. All went smoothly and I watched the whole thing with a pint that the kind staff gave me to calm down . He loved it and it was a great place to do crazy sports, if you’re that way inclined.
We then went to Twyfelfontein Country Lodge, situated in Damaraland. This is the home of the Desert Elephant, an adapted desert species. We had an excellent safari afternoon, led by our amazing guide Lotto, where we saw the elephants and some gorgeous giraffes. The day ended perfectly with sundowners and sunset overlooking the Damaraland grasslands
We were so impressed with the guides, accommodation, amazing friendly welcomes, the food and lovely people in Namibia. Also a huge thanks to our wonderful DMC, Obeo who have helped us every step of the way. It’s great having local help when you need it.
The second half of our Namibia adventure was animal filled at safari lodges. Never have I seen so many rhinos, and we’ve were closer to animals than I could ever dream.
We stayed in Etosha National park at Okaukuejo Camp & Resort and Omaruru Game Lodge in Omaruru private reserve.
The watering holes at both were amazing - we spent hours sitting in front of them and at Omaruru we could see the animals parade in front of our rooms and the bar! The safari excursions were amazing and at Omaruru we had some very close encounters with elephants and rhinos and a cheeky impala!
We ended our adventure at River Crossing Lodge, near Windhoek, close to the international airport and a good location as well as a beautiful lodge.
Namibia has really captured a part of my heart and I couldn’t have asked for a better group to share it with, a better guide in Martin and a better DMC.
