I stayed at this hotel that promised 4-star service but left me feeling a little underwhelmed. Here’s an honest breakdown of my experience.

🏨 First Impressions & Room Experience

While the resort had potential, the overall feel was that it needed some much needed TLC, both in the rooms and around the property. Areas looked a little tired, and some of the finer details that make a stay comfortable were unfortunately overlooked.

Room issues included:

Wi-Fi connectivity was poor, particularly in the 3400 block — almost unusable during their stay.

Air conditioning only worked with motion sensors, meaning it would turn off during the night. While a fan was provided, it didn’t quite meet the cooling needs we like.

Housekeeping standards were inconsistent: glasses weren't refreshed daily, toiletries weren’t topped up, and toilet paper wasn’t always replenished in time.

🍽️ Dining Experience: Buffet vs Specialty Restaurants

The hotel offered a mix of buffet and specialty restaurants, but booking the specialty venues was a challenge. We could only reserve once checked in, and many popular options like Salina (Italian) and The Jungle (Mexican) were already fully booked — partly due to outside guests being allowed to reserve as well.

When it came to the main buffet:

Breakfast was the standout meal — fresh, well-prepared, and with good variety.

Lunch and dinner were more hit-and-miss. The pasta was regularly undercooked, and fish/meats tended to be overdone. The variety was also less than what you'd typically expect at a 4-star all-inclusive resort.

Specialty restaurants, where available, offered a slightly better experience, but still didn’t quite live up to expectations.

🍹 Drinks & Entertainment

The cocktail selection included in the all-inclusive package was limited, and while the wine and beer options were decent.

That said, the entertainment team shone. Daytime and evening activities were lively and well-run, bringing much-needed energy and enjoyment to our stay.

🏊 Facilities & Cleanliness

The poolside areas could use improvement:

Toilets near the pool were in need of a refurbishment.

Sunbeds were worn, some needed a deep clean or replacement.

Broken tiles around the pool created a bit of a safety concern.

We didnt use the adults-only pool ,so no comments there — but it’s worth checking out if you’re looking for a quieter experience.

The Beach is across the road, which is ok. It can become really busy on the weekend but during the week it was not too bad. The sunloungers and umbrellas you have to pay extra for as the Beach is public and not part of the hotel which is a pain as it stopped us going for me then a day. However my husband and son prefer the pool anyway. So all ok. There is a little supermarket kind of shop and starbucks just down the road in like 5 -10 min walk that you can use if you like and many guests have done as I could see the starbucks cubs on a daily basis.

The poppey village is worth a visit and can be reached by foot in 30 min. The road is main road but not very busy but of course you can also use an uber or Bolt to get there in like 5 - 10 min. They do have sun loungers there but they get taken very quickly on the main area by the sea but there are loads all over if you dont mind being straight by the water. I would highly recommend water shoes as the entry to the water is very stony.

👎 Overall Verdict

While there were some positive moments — especially the entertainment and breakfast — the overall experience didn’t match up to our 4-star expectations. The lack of attention to detail, combined with difficulties accessing restaurant reservations and tired facilities, led us to decide we won’t be returning.
