Gold trip to Dubai

After 13 years running my own business, I have finally made it to be a GOLD Travel Counsellor. This puts me in the top 10% of the business, which is a great pay off for the hard work over those years, and vindication for the number of times I just missed the qualification period by a few pounds!

As a Thank you from the business, I was invited to attend the Gold Travel Counsellors conference in Dubai in September this year. I treated myself to Business class flights from Heathrow. The service was amazing, and lovely to have a flat bed to get some sleep. After a good 5 hours of sleep, I woke to find we were almost ready to land!

With the benefit of hindsight, travelling to Dubai in September was not the best choice. the heat was amazing, but stiffling..... 40 degree temperatures at 11pm will give you an idea...not for the faint hearted!

I stayed at the Caesars Palace hotel, located right by the Ain Dubai (the largest observational wheel in the world). The service at the hotel was exceptional. It is located on a man made island, but several beaches. Only 20 minutes from the heart of Dubai, this makes it a great place for a short or long stay. They have a choice of many restaurants (including a great Gordon Ramsey themed dining option). Quiet and relaxed, yet attentive when needed....a lovely experience.

I want to thank all the staff at Travel Counsellors, and the hotel for making it a wonderful experience.

I was also able to catch up with old friends now living in Dubai for lunch.....Claire and Aidan,...it was lovely to see you, and meet the latest addition to your beautiful family.

I didnt make it up the Burj Khalifa this time, but next time for sure!
