An all-inclusive family adventure in Thailand

Katathani Phuket Beach Resort

This 10-night trip (11 nights with an overnight flight) eases you in in style, with a three-night stay at the luxury Katathani Phuket on Thailand’s largest island with its famous beaches, diving, and night markets. Perched on Kata Noi Beach with glorious Andaman Sea views, the Katathani includes six swimming pools, four kids’ pool, and a mini water slide. The resort also has a graceful beachfront spa fronted by casuarina trees and cooled by the tropical breezes, offering treatments out in its lovely garden. Meanwhile, younger guests can be having fun, making new friends, and learning new things in the kids’ club for children aged 4–14 years old.

Elephant Hills Rainforest Camp

Next up is Elephant Hills, a spectacular property that many of our customers rate as among their best-ever experiences – yes, it really is that good. And it’s completely unique. It’s hard to put it into words, but think conscientious wildlife experiences combined with thrilling accommodation in luxury safari tents within Khao Sok National Park. Close to Phuket, Khao Lak, and other popular beach resorts, it sits in evergreen rainforest (the oldest in the world) with jagged limestone mountains, deep valleys, shimmering lakes, and caves to explore nearby. During your two nights at this special property, you can go on a canoe safari down the Sok River. While the other two resorts on this trip are all-inclusive, at Elephant Hills, you will stay on full-board basis which means you just have to pay for your drinks.

The Sands Khao Lak

From there you’ll head to another truly family-friendly resort, this time in Khao Lak, a laid-back seaside town in Phang Nga Province, with gorgeous snorkelling and diving spots, plus boat trips to the famously scenic Phi Phi Islands. You’ll spend five nights at The Sands Khao Lak where you can relax and have fun together in one of the many pools, some right outside your door, or on the beautifully pristine beach.

There’s also the Sands Castle club for kids and teens, and the dining options here have everything covered, from Talay for the freshest grilled seafood served alfresco right in front of the beach to the airy, casual Manta Ray Bistro in the shape of the iconic marine creatures, overlooking the pool and serving kids’ favourites right through the day.

Why Shizuoka, Japan, deserves to be on your bucket list

10 February 2026

Shizuoka is one of those places that quietly delivers on everything people love about Japan, without the intensity that often comes with it. Perfectly placed on the Golden Route between Tokyo and Kyoto, it’s easy to reach yet rarely feels overrun. This is a region where everyday life and travel experiences blend naturally, giving you space to explore at your own pace, whether that’s over a long weekend or as part of a wider journey across the country.

A modern take on Kyoto tradition at Capella Kyoto

09 February 2026

Kyoto’s Gion district is well-known for its heritage and character. Capella Kyoto places guests right in the heart of this cultural scene, surrounded by genuine traditions and the real rhythm of Kyoto life. With celebrated landmarks on all sides - Miyagawa-cho Kaburenjo, where geiko and maiko keep age-old performing arts alive, Kenninji Temple, a peaceful retreat and the city’s oldest Zen Buddhist temple, and Ebisu Shrine for good fortune - every walk from the hotel gives you an immediate sense of the history of this part of Japan.

A family-friendly way to experience Mount Fuji

09 February 2026

Japan has a way of rewarding travellers who slow down, and Hanz Outdoor Resort is especially well suited to families looking for space and ease. Set in the Lake Kawaguchiko area, it offers clear views of Mount Fuji while remaining straightforward to reach from Tokyo. Rather than packing days with long journeys, families can settle into one place and let the mountain become part of daily life, from relaxed mornings to evenings spent outdoors together. It’s a base that works just as well for first visits to Japan as it does for families returning to explore further.
