We’re thrilled to hear that one of Celebrity’s Edge® class ships, Celebrity APEX®, will be sailing from Southampton in 2024. There are so many reasons to sail from the UK, chief among them being that you’re spared the hassle of airports and baggage restrictions, giving you total ease and convenience – something that is making such itineraries increasingly popular.

Apex’s destinations for 2024 range from the Norwegian fjords to Spain and Portugal. Its Norwegian Fjord & Arctic Circle trip is the first time it has done a sailing to the latter, and it is already proving very popular.

Junior sailors aren’t forgotten, either, thanks to the cruise line’s innovative, fully customisable Camp at Sea programme with its activities themed around the spheres of Art, Recreation, Culinary, and S.T.E.M., combining more than 500 activities in total.

Celebrity Apex®

Celebrity’s three groundbreaking Edge® ships (Celebrity Apex, Celebrity Edge® and Celebrity Beyond℠) have taken the cruise line’s outward-facing design even further than the rest of its fleet, to enhance your connection with the sea and your destinations. The length of the ships was extended to create even more room for incredible outdoor spaces.

The remarkable APEX® was the second launch in Celebrity’s Edge® series, debuting after much anticipation in 2018. We love it for its visionary spaces, which include a rooftop garden, a top-deck 22m lap pool, two-storey ‘martini-glass’ hot tubs and private cabanas, plus an immersive theatre including thrilling performances by acrobats and an array of top-notch musical productions.

The spa – while created in consultation with world-renowned designer Kelly Hoppen, MBE – is a whole wide world in itself, with 23 treatment rooms, eight Sea Thermal Suite experiences and an incredible menu of 124 treatments and therapies. Guests in the AquaClass® accommodation get complimentary spa access, as well their own exclusive Blu dining venue with light, nutritious cuisine and sustainable and biodynamic wines.

Another unique feature of APEX® and other Edge® ships are The Retreat® exclusively for suite guests, with accommodation that blurs the boundaries between indoor and outdoor living and an exclusive lounge, and the Magic Carpet® cantilevered platform ‘floating’ 13 storeys up, hosting open-air dining, a bar and a live-music space.

In total, Celebrity APEX® has nearly 30 visionary restaurants, bars, cafés and lounges, seven of them speciality restaurants. Curated by a Michelin-starred chef, they run the gamut of global cuisine, embracing everything from highly experimental dining in the unique plant-filled Eden to contemporary French cuisine in Normandie, and from Tuscan to Cypriot. APEX® also has a wide range of staterooms, with options starting at single staterooms to nearly 180 possible options for connecting staterooms for voyages with friends or family.
