Discover the heart of Africa with SkySafari Kenya

SkySafari Kenya is the ultimate in safari holidays, as discovered recently by Lucy Grimshaw, who you may know better as lovetearsandteepees on Instagram, when she embarked on this once-in-a-lifetime trip with us.

Discover the heart of Africa with SkySafari Kenya

"A safari has always been on my bucket list, and I’ve just come back from the most magical eight nights with Sky Safari Kenya. If you can only go on one trip of your life then go on this one, I promise you it will be one of the most special experiences of your entire life,” says Lucy. “A huge thank you to my Travel Counsellor who ensured we packed it all in, from the rich history of Elsa’s Kopje in Meru National Park to sleeping under the African sky at Star beds and tented camps in Loisaba Conservancy, we finally ended our journey in the iconic Maasai Mara.”

This awe-inspiring African odyssey kicks off in the vibrant heart of Nairobi before whisking you away to the wild expanses of Meru National Park. Here, amidst the untouched wilderness, encounter a spectacular tapestry of wildlife that sets this park apart from any other in East Africa. From majestic lions and towering elephants to the elusive caracal, graceful lesser kudu, and mysterious aardwolf, each moment is filled with wonder.

“Greeted by the amazing staff, we were taken for one night at the luxury tented camps and then for a second night sleeping under the African sky at the amazing Star Beds…the experience is authentic but super luxurious,” reveals Lucy, “My Travel Counsellor ensured our favourite food and drinks were always on hand, from my favourite welcome tipple, in room massages, and tailored sundowners. They even delivered a golden turmeric milk drink at bed time…the attention to detail is truly exceptional.”

The adventure escalates as you soar in a light aircraft to Loisaba, a sanctuary where cutting-edge conservation efforts are safeguarding an incredibly biodiverse and breathtakingly beautiful landscape. Finally, the journey culminates in the iconic Maasai Mara, offering what is arguably the planet’s most extraordinary game-viewing experience. SkySafari Kenya is not just a trip; it's a passage to the heart of Africa's raw beauty, where every view tells a story and every moment is a treasure.

A seven-night SkySafari Kenya adventure

From £9795pp based on a June 2024 departure

Hemingway’s Nairobi | Elewana Elsa’s Kopje, Meru (2 nights) | Elewana Loisaba Tented Camp (2 nights) | Elewana Sand River, Masai Mara (2 nights)

Includes: international and domestic flights, guides, camp and lodge accommodation, and all meals.

This experience has been carefully curated to pack in variety, adventure, and style – partly through the use of SkySafari’s own elegant private aircraft, seating only eight passengers. This means there’s no needless waiting or stops en route; you’ll be driven straight onto the airstrip and flown deep into in the wilderness for more time to track big cats on foot, learn native bird calls, search for the Big Five, and sip G&Ts while watching the sun go down. You’ll also be among the first to see the black rhinos back in the Loisaba Conservancy for the first time in 50 years.

As well as this executive plane, you’ll enjoy direct flights, top-class guides, and luxurious camps and lodges in the most stupendous locations as part of your ultra-luxe holiday. But this is also a sustainable trip, partnered with Carbon Tanzania to compensate for flight emissions and road transfers, and guests also contribute to the Land & Life Foundation, established to create a better future for African wildlife and communities.

Among your accommodation is Elsa’s Kopje, which was opened in 1999 by Dr Richard Leakey and Virginia McKenna – the latter the star of the iconic 1960s film Born Free, who went on to found the international wildlife charity, the Born Free Foundation. And in Loisaba, your second night can even be spent in a Star Bed on your decking, sleeping under the shimmering stars of the dense African night, with the sounds of the bush all around you. In Nairobi, meanwhile, you’ll stay on an old coffee plantation at the foot of the Ngong Hills.

You’ll enjoy several game drives throughout your trip, as well as walking safaris and nature walks. in Loisaba Conservancy, you’ll also get the option of exploring by horseback, bush running or trekking, fishing, or enjoying a visit with the anti-poaching sniffer dog team. In the Maasai Mara, meanwhile, you’ll get to meet the inhabitants of a Maasai village.

But your downtime is equally exciting, with facilities such as infinity pools and delicious cuisine to enjoy, including bush breakfasts, picnic lunch hampers and sundowners in the bush, and camp dinners under the stars.
