This trip was recently embarked upon by one of our customers, Katie (pictured above). This holiday-of-a-lifetime includes a visit to the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, one of seven UNESCO World Heritage sites in Sri Lanka. There is also a tour of the fascinating Halpewatte Tea Factory and the chance to try the iconic Swing in Ella at the Ravana Pool Club – a huge adrenaline-pumping swing that rewards your bravery with fabulous views of the mountains and jungle.
There is plenty of wildlife to marvel at on the agenda too, thanks to a jeep safari in Minneriya National Park with its elephants, leopards and deer, and a boat safari on the Senanayake Samudraya reservoir in the Gal Oya National Park, where you might spot elephants swimming from one island to another and possibly crocodiles, as well as abundant birdlife. "This unbelievable tour had us hiking up ancient rock forts, exploring the jungle and hanging out with wild elephants," explains Katie. "I’ve fallen deeply in love with Sri Lanka; the landscapes, the food, the nature, the culture but, most importantly, the people."
