Meliá in Vietnam

In partnership with the native Vinpearl chain, the iconic Spanish hotel brand Meliá has taken over 13 wonderful properties around Vietnam, all of them ideal for a luxurious retreat and for exploring this most compelling of South-east Asian destinations.

A kaleidoscopic world of beaches, markets, mountain tribes and motorbike rides, Vietnam is also a place with a rich history that manifests itself everywhere from incense-scented pagodas to touching war sites. This is a country that leaves no one unmoved. We’ve looked at some of our favourites among the new Meliá hotels.

Meliá in Vietnam

Meliá Vinpearl Phú Quốc

Set on pristine ‘Pearl Island’  – Vietnam’s largest island – this sleek contemporary property is nestled between a lovely soft-sand beach, shimmering lakes and tumbling hills. It’s a great place for simply kicking back and enjoying sunset views, refreshing dips in the pool or sea, soothing spa treatments and delicious cuisine, but there are also water sports, yoga classes and kids’ activities to keep all ages entertained. Accommodation is in villas with private pools, perfect for extra space and seclusion – some with up to four bedrooms making them ideal for multi-generational holidays or getaways with friends. Local activities include exploring Phú Quốc National Park with its mountain and jungle hiking trails and its wildlife, and browsing the day and night markets of Duong Dong town.

Meliá Vinpearl Cam Ranh Beach Resort

This is another all-villa resort, this time on Cam Ranh Bay with views towards Bai Dai (Long Beach). Perfect for privacy, the villas – built in a neo-classical European style, and also with up to four bedrooms – all come with a private pool and garden, plus gorgeous sea or lake views. Another standout are the lakeside spa treatment huts within the extensive tropical gardens, surrounded by mango trees, and there’s a kids’ ‘club with indoor and outdoor activities. Located in south-east Vietnam, south of Nha Trang, Cam Ranh offers activities including golf, surfing, windsurfing, scuba-diving and snorkelling.

Meliá Vinpearl Tây Ninh

This iconic building was the city’s first five-star hotel and occupies its tallest building – one right in the heart of things and also offering easy access by car or motorbike to local landmarks including Black Virgin Mountain, Dau Tieng Reservoir, Ma Thien Lanh Valley and Moc Bai Border Gate. Rooms between the 9th and 21st floors all enjoy panoramic city or Ba Den views, and the bistro also looks towards the mountain. You’ll also find the city’s only year-round swimming here – perfect for cooling off after all that sightseeing – plus a reviving spa.

Meliá Vinpearl Huế

Another city hotel ideal for cultural and historical immersion, this striking modern property is in the heart of the ancient citadel city, overlooking the Huong River. Also home to an indoor pool, a calming spa and yoga and other fitness facilities, it offers the upgraded experience of The Level, which includes access to a 32nd-floor lounge serving cocktails and snacks overlooking the pool, plus an evening open-bar service with wines, beers and canapés, accompanied by fabulous views over the city. The national capital from 1802 to 1945, Hue was also the seat of the Nguyen Dynasty emperors; its main sight is the vast, walled and moated Imperial city with its palaces, shrines, gardens and villas for mandarins.
