Relax at the Baglioni Resort, Maldives

Baglioni has is own airport crew who will greet you at  Velana International and escort you to the seaplane terminal to check-in and relax in the private lounge there, enjoying a welcome drink, snacks and WiFi while waiting to board the 45-minute flight.

The resort team will extend a warm Maldivian welcome as you arrive at the island’s pier, including a local drum (Bodu Beru) performance and the offering of a hand-crafted palm-leaf necklace and a coconut water drink.  Your personal resort host will escort you to your accommodation, where you’ll enjoy complimentary treats of champagne and a tropical fruit basket. After check-in, you’ll be given a guided resort tour by buggy so you can plan the rest of your stay. Your personal host will remain constantly available to you by live chat.

As part of the Privilege package, your villa will come with a premium selection of mini-bar drinks and goodies that will be replenished daily. Designed using refined materials for optimal sustainability, the 85 beach and water villas offer comfortable and practical spaces, some with private pools. The Baglioni Residence, the biggest villa, has three bedrooms, making this an appealing choice for a multi-generational holiday or for a tropical getaway with extended family or with friends.

Your all-inclusive package lets you indulge in your favourite dishes as well as new and surprising cuisine in the restaurants Gusto (a romantic spot with authentic Italian cuisine and dining under the stars), Umami with its Japanese sushi, soba, ramen kare-ya, yakitori and more, Taste (global cuisine with live cooking stations) and the laidback Pool Bar with its pasta, pizza, salads, and grilled vegetables and meats. Last but not least, the resort has an extensive wine cellar with labels from esteemed vineyards all around the world, plus curated gin, whisky, rum and vodka collections.

Things to Do

The resort’s water activities are organised from the on-site Diving Centre run by an Italian expert. The reefs in this less crowded of atolls are out of this world. Complimentary snorkeling gear is available to explore the gorgeous house reef every day of your stay if you wish, and there are also complimentary diving experiences in the resort pool, plus complimentary non-motorised water sports including canoeing and stand-up paddle-boarding, and also fascinating marine talks to learn all about local sea life.

The resort has kids’ club (with a pool) where junior guests can have fun and make new friends, and there’s a whole raft of activities and entertainment to keep all ages happy, including a nightly DJ, a  weekly movie night under the stars with popcorn, beach volleyball, tennis, a 24-hour gym, weekly yoga sessions and meditation rituals.

The yoga and meditation pavilion is part of the resort’s indulgent and award-winning spa with its four treatment rooms and wooden open-air pavilion. Adult and kids’ treatments here (at extra charge) were inspired by the traditions of the Maldives and include the likes of the four-handed Baglioni Sensory Journey with two therapists, combining a foot bath, skin-renewing treats, an aromatherapy massage, a cleansing facial and a stress-relieving scalp massage.
