The Otium wellness program
Inspired by the philosophy and traditions of the ancient Romans, Silversea’s wellbeing program debuted with Silver Dawn in 2022. Now bigger and better aboard Silver Nova, expect a redesigned spa with a sparkling indoor relaxation pool, all-new in-suite amenities and bathroom products, and dedicated Otium Suites that come with complimentary pampering.
This means, among other things, that your wellness journey will begin in your suite. We all know that a huge part of wellness is sleep, and aboard Silver Nova you can optimise your nightly rest with Otium’s signature sleeping experience, featuring the finest linens and a pillow menu. Then there’s the Otium bathing experience, with bespoke bath salts, a curated playlist, and gourmet treats.
Suites also come with a brand-new shower experience using invigorating shower steamers dispensing three essential oil fragrances: Deep Sleep (lavender, rose geranium, and black pepper), Mood Boost (lemon, peppermint, pink grapefruit, bergamot, rosemary, lavender, and lemon verbena), and Room (eucalyptus, rosemary, pine, and black pepper).
Meanwhile, two new Otium Suites are among Silver Nova’s seven new suite categories, bringing the total choice to 13. Situated in the premium aft-corner position and the ship’s most spacious accommodation, they have floor-to-ceiling windows with 270° views and balconies with private whirlpools. Relaxation is heightened by five Roman-inspired artworks and custom-made luxury mattresses, and the suites also come with a complimentary spa treatment for each person, up to a value of $399 per person.
New Otium bathroom amenities testify to the brand’s commitment to conserving the planet while pampering guests, using refillable ceramic dispensers to minimise waste. Developed with iconic Italian firm La Bottega and exclusive to Silversea guests, they’ve been created using ethically sourced, natural ingredients including carefully selected essential oils and are suitable for vegans as well as being SLES, paraben, and silicon-free.
The spa itself has been repositioned towards the ship’s bow and as well as the indoor relaxation pool inspired by ancient designs, it features eight treatment rooms, a relaxation area, a fitness centre, and a beauty salon. The spa’s design was inspired by ancient Roman baths, with flowing spaces, a large thermal area with steam and sauna rooms, a travertine and water fountain wall, and a floor-to-ceiling window with fabulous views. Touches of red marble and soft ripple-effect lighting add to the sensory feel created by the use of raw natural materials. And lastly, of course, there are the treatments: an expertly curated array of therapies based on the finest ingredients, with a greater choice of durations now available to suit everyone’s schedule and mood.
