With Silversea’s World Cruises for 2023 and 2024 already fully booked due to exceptionally strong demand from people keener than ever to make this once-in-a-lifetime trip. In anticipation of the 2025 World Cruise, we have taken a look at what you may expect from a World Cruise Experience.

 

 

Specially curated to unlock new experiences in iconic destinations during unconventional seasons, the newest iteration of Silversea’s flagship voyage will allow the cruise line’s well-travelled guests to experience familiar destinations in a whole new light, thanks to immersive moments crafted by Silversea’s destination experts to showcase local people and bring out their fascinating stories. It will also journey to more offbeat, lesser-known destinations, for a one-off experience that you’ll carry with you forever after.

What kinds of experiences to expect on a World Cruise

Silversea’s World Cruises are a way of seeing the wonders of our planet in ultra luxury, seeing iconic sights, connecting with an array of different cultures and enjoying fabulous food and drink aboard intimate vessels that visit remote and remarkable destinations across all seven seas. Guests can enjoy both inclusive and extra shore excursions that vary by route.

Silversea have not yet released the itinerary for the 2025 World Cruise, so we have taken a look at some of the iconic and lesser known destinations the 2023 & 2024 World Cruises will be visiting.

Revelling in an evening of 1940s fun aboard the U.S.S. Missouri in Pearl Harbour, viewing the whole ship from the bow, enjoying Hawaiian cocktails and canapés, chatting to the knowledgeable docents, watching the lowering of the flag at sunset and Chattanooga Choo Chooing the night away to big band Boogie Woogie.

Spending a uniquely magical night at Uluru, Australia’s beating heart, flying into the landmark red rock surrounded by desert by specially chartered aircraft for cocktails and canapés, a traditional Aboriginal welcome, and a meal at an interactive chef’s station where you’ll enjoy an Aussie menu incorporating native bush ingredients by starlight.

Imbibing Indonesian heritage with a Hindu procession at Prambanan, regional dining under the stars and sunrise at the world's biggest Buddhist monument, the magnificent UNESCO World Heritage listed temple of Borobudur on Java.

Experiencing both old Shanghai and modern-day China through a bespoke subversive dining experience – a multi-sensory meal at a secret location combining state-of-the-art technology including UV lighting with some of the world’s finest cuisine prepared by globally renowned chefs.

Watching a performance of a fire dance to invoke and appease the spirits of the forest in a tribal village in Papua New Guinea – a rare opportunity to see initiated young men wearing giant masks dance barefoot on fire, chanting hypnotically to invoke a trance-like state to summon up the courage to run through the roaring fire. 

Passing an evening in the Old Arab Fort, the oldest building in Zanzibar, dating from 1699, in specially produced event to pay homage to the island’s most famous son, Freddy Mercury. The local gourmet experience includes cocktails and dinner followed by the flamboyant music of Queen and the more operatic songs Mercury penned during his solo career. 

Entering one of Ha Long Bay’s mysterious caves of the Bay of the Descending Dragon, behind a skyline of enormous rocks rising up from the emerald waters. Known for its impressive natural beauty, Ha Long Bay is legendary in Vietnam, and you can learn all its tales and traditions through music and dance while savouring a specially curated Vietnamese dinner.
