The Best UK Stays This Easter

For those of you looking for something a little closer to home this Easter, we’ve picked out some of our favourite family getaway options that still have availability over the school holidays. Don’t delay contacting your Travel Counsellor, if last year is anything to go by, availability won’t last long in these most in demand of locations.

Safari Tents, Narberth

Nestled within the rolling countryside of Pembrokeshire with a collection of unique lodges that really do stand out from the crowd for family breaks (although two berth options are available), these safari tents recreate the magic of a safari, just a little closer to home with classic tented structure, private hot tub and barbecue out on the decking and a wood burning stove inside. The family tents are split level with a sleeping area up top freeing up room for a spacious living area. For a safari experience with a twist, head for a boat trip along the coast to see dolphins, seals and puffins.

Heckfield Place, Hampshire

Lovingly restored from its classic origins, this Georgian family home has been rewoven into a luxury hotel in the heart of the Hampshire countryside. The hotel’s own farm and orchards produce much of the raw ingredients that go into the delicious creations you’ll be served up at Hearth and the Green Michelin Star-awarded Marle restaurant.

There’s an ever-changing programme of events held at Heckfield Place that cater to both young and old. Think cocktail making classes, outdoor adventures for kids, art tours and special cinema screenings.

Artist Residence, Cornwall

An eclectic mix of bold colours and eye-catching patterns, Cornwall’s Artist Residence hotel occupies a spot in the heart of the coastal town of Penzance. Their one-of-a-kind rooms have been designed by local artists and each carry their own unique character ranging from shabby chic to comfy luxe.

Penzance is one of Cornwall’s most sough-after locations, with Land’s End just a few miles down the road. The historic port town’s history of piracy will thrill inquisitive children as they learn of tales of 19th-centruy pillaging that went on to inspire the Gilbert and Sullivan musical.

Gleneagles, Perthshire

Home to the only restaurant in Scotland to hold two Michelin Stars (Andrew Fairlie), this Scottish institution has more to attract visitors than just its three world-renowned golf courses. A certified haven for foodies, the hotel delivers everything from bar snacks and family far to afternoon tea refined fine dining across its 10 eateries. Families have 850 acres to explore along with archery, tree climbing, tennis and bicycle hire to keep the wee ones entertained.

While the kids are busy having fun, you can slip away to the Resident Spa for a treatment rich in natural botanicals from the Perthshire countryside.

Temple Guiting Barn, Cotswolds

If you’re looking for a big group getaway over Easter, this honey-hued, characterful barn Conversion in the Cotswolds could be just what you’re looking for. Accommodating up to 10 guests across its five bedrooms, it’s well-suited to a multigenerational getaway or a reunion with friends.

You’ll be well-placed for countryside walks along the old Roman routes and fishing for brown trout on one of the many nearby rivers. When its time to unwind, some enviable leisure amenities, including a private swimming pool, private Jacuzzi, and a pretty outdoor seating area with barbecue facilities.

Riverside Holiday Caravan, Somerset
