Some of our Travel Counsellors got to experience the lovely Conrad Chia Laguna on the wonderful Mediterranean island of Sardinia first hand on a recent trip. One of the things our Travel Counsellors loved most about this welcoming contemporary resort on the island’s southern coast is its naturally inspired design – it both drew on and blends into the gorgeous landscape in which it sits, offering views over a lagoon populated by pink flamingos overlooking Chia Bay.
While the Conrad is not directly on the coast, you can enjoy the benefits of a private shuttle service to and exclusive services at both Monte Cogoni and Le Dune beaches. The first has cabana hire, volleyball and other organised beach activities, and changing rooms. The resort is also only a hour from the island’s historical capital Cagliari, which is well worth a day’s exploring.
Back at the resort, our agents were hugely impressed by the spa with its water massage pool with bay views, surrounded by plant life and scented by strawberries, mastic, juniper and myrtle. Its massages and rituals really do stand out from the crowd in the way that they harness the healing energy of Mediterranean nature, including rasul mud treatments. It also has a sauna, a Turkish bath and experiential showers, and for gym bunnies there’s a 24-hour fitness room with the latest tech, sea views while you work out and a juice bar.
This is a superbly family-friendly property, with a high-season activity programme and a fabulous kids’ club for children and teens up to 17. And families can also have fun together at the kids’ pool with its little water fountain.
This is quite an intimate resort of just over 100 rooms and suites, all bright and breezy with airy Mediterranean decor, some with spectacular bay and lagoon views. Our TCs recommend those in the Oasi area for families: it has a dedicated pool, private entrances, gardens and access to the adjacent kids’ club. Its 34 rooms are mostly suites with a living area and/or second bedroom.
There are also two restaurants, a bar and room service at the Conrad Chia Laguna, between them serving excellent, traditional Sardinian and Mediterranean dishes, organic wines, champagne, cocktails and smoothies. You might also elect to try out the restaurants of the hotels within the Chia Laguna complex, one of which has a sushi and sashimi venue.

We stayed in the stunning Conrad Chai Laguna hotel. A very short walk from the beautiful beaches, but a lovely lazy option to jump in a golf buggy and be chauffeured down to enjoy the peaceful spot with loungers and beach bar exclusive to hotel guests. The hotel offers a Spa experience which is second to none, in a gorgeous setting with treatments or just the option to relax and enjoy the surroundings.
We arrived on the Thursday to a welcome with drinks, and met later on for drinks and dinner by the Bioacquam pool. On Friday we came together for our Gold Conference and then enjoyed a private pool party at the Curio Pool with an open bar, a DJ and far too much fun and games in the water. Saturday there was an option for us to do bike riding or horse riding, or have a lazy day enjoying the facilities in the hotel, then Saturday evening saw our Celebratory Gala Dinner together.
