Where to visit in Spain this Spring

Spain is a classic destination for everyone from solo travellers to families, from couples to friends travelling together, thanks to compelling cities rich in art and heritage, gorgeous food, vast national parks and nearly 6000km of coastline packed with fabulous beaches, resorts and water-sports opportunities galore.

It’s also a great place for spending time you’ve amassed by taking your annual leave around strategic days to maximise your days off. For instance, take four days’ leave from 3 to 6 April and get a 10-day holiday – brilliant for families looking for an Easter getaway. Take four days’ leave from 2 to 5 May for a nine-day holiday, or book four days’ leave from 30 May to 2 June to get a nine-day holiday – again, great for families keen to get away at May half term.

Majorca

This largest of the Balearics is blessed with stunning landscapes ranging from rugged mountain peaks to safe sandy beaches where you can enjoy the likes of sailing, paragliding, water skiing, bodysurfing and glass-bottomed boat rides. Watching thrilling regattas, exploring the labyrinthine alleys of the capital Palma, riding vintages trains to Sóller, horse-riding from a working ranch, hot-air balloon rides and water parks are other highlights.

Madrid
