If you are going to stay in this hotel I strongly recommend the preferred club rooms as you get access to the preferred club lounge where you receive a personalised check in/out service. The lounge also has drinks and snacks available for you, even when guests staying in other rooms don't. Preferred club rooms also gets you the best views in the hotel and there is a separate pool with bar to enjoy. Please note however that the preferred club pool is adult only. As a family we were so happy with the other pools that this did not matter to us. The all-inclusive activities that are available throughout the day and night are some of the best I have ever come across, and they catered for all ages. My youngest who is 11 enjoyed kayaking, paddle boarding, rock climbing and even a zip line across the pool. The zipline was set up every Thursday for kids and adults to enjoy, it’s worth noting that there is a weight restriction for safety reasons. For sports enthusiasts they had countless sports on including beach volley ball, tennis and our new family favourite pickle ball! (imagine tennis but with swing ball bats and airflow balls). A bicycle tour to Puerto Morelos was a highlight. The complimentary tours ran daily at 8am and 4pm which meant you benefited from the cooler weather. In total the tour takes approx 2 hours. After a short safety briefing you are escorted by one of the hotel team off the main road and through the local streets until you get to the peaceful fishing village which is full of character. For anyone looking for a more authentic Mexican experience then this is a must. There are several bistros if you wish to try some local food and plenty of ice-cream café’s if you fancy something sweet. November to April is classed as the dry season in Mexico so we didn’t mind the infrequent showers of the evening, in fact the kids were grateful for a bit of cool as our daily temperatures were around 33 degrees most days. If it rained it gave us a great excuse to get a chauffeured golf buggy from the hotel reception back to our room. The hotel team are more than happy to drive you back to your room at any time, so it’s handy for anyone that needs assistance or a break from the heat. During our buggy rides we also got a tour of the hotel grounds and lots of information about the property and the resort itself. Not only that, it was fun and the kids always wanted to sit on the back. We enjoyed several days outside of the hotel as we like to get out and about. Our day trip to Puerto Del Carmen was lots of fun and worth the visit, however, it is around 30 mins away and you cannot get a bus there from the hotel. My advice to anyone wishing to do this is get an Uber one way and then barter for you return, there are plenty of taxi’s eager to get a fare. I say this as we were quoted $220 return by the hotel and our two trips totalled £80. If you want more information on this fabulous hotel or about holidays to Mexico please get in touch.
