How to make airport security feel like a breeze!

We've all been there, rolling our eyes at the person in front who decided it was a great idea to wear their 18-eyelet lace-up boots to the airport! Don't be that person, follow my top tips below for making airport security feel like a relaxed experience.

1. Wear slip on or easy zip shoes. This might seem obvious but not for all... remember if they're tricky to put on sitting down, they'll be far harder whilst balancing on one leg with a queue of people behind you!

2. Lose the belt/costume jewellery. Remember the term 'less is more' when dressing for the airport, unless you want a full airport security pad down!

3. Pre-pack all toiletries that can't be bought at the airport. Remember 100ml max in an easily accessible, clear zip-up bag. Be ready to decant it into an airport approved plastic bag before you hit Passport checks.

4. Make your hand luggage work hard. Invest in a lightweight wheeler or holdall, ideally with an external pocket for easy access to laptops/iPads. My personal favourite is good for business and small enough for Ryanair 'IT Luggage The LITE 4 Wheel Soft Cabin Suitcase'. It's just £30 and weighs in at a featherweight 1.6kg so allows you to squeeze in that extra pair of shoes!

5. All done... time to head to your pre-booked airport lounge. Escape the duty-free mayhem and relax into your world of calm at one of the luxury pre departure lounges!
