Lapland: A Magical Experience - A Journey to the Arctic Wonderland

From the moment we stepped onto the plane, we were instantly swept into the magical winter wonderland that awaited us. Singing Christmas songs with the crew and enjoying a hot breakfast really set the tone, getting us into that jolly Christmas spirit long before we even touched down.

Arriving in Lapland, the excitement was clear. We were whisked straight to a coach for a quick transfer to collect our thermal suits – a fantastic perk, meaning one less bulky item to pack! A quick tip for future adventurers: bring a few pairs of socks and a couple of pairs of gloves for each day, just in case they get damp. Our room had a brilliant drying cupboard, which was excellent for the end of the day, ensuring we had lovely warm clothes to change into each morning. This is where the true magic began. The fun, the excitement, and the never-ending Christmas tunes will live with me forever. Even as an adult, I was completely swept up in the enchantment of it all, and let me tell you... I believe! Our three-night trip was packed with so much, we barely stopped. To see my little girl's face light up from start to finish at every single moment was truly magical.

We had the incredible opportunity to see reindeer in their natural habitat, cared for by the Sami people. Learning about their traditions and how they travel with the reindeer was fascinating, and then, of course, we were taken on a reindeer sleigh ride ourselves. From the gentle glide of a sleigh pulled through the snow to the fast-paced roar of a snowmobile, the activities offered a thrilling change of pace. The kids even got the chance to drive in a controlled environment, while I got to speed through the snow at dusk – an exhilarating experience!

Searching for Santa added an extra layer of excitement. A sleigh ride through the winter forest, wondering if we'd spotted some elves or maybe even the big man himself, built the anticipation. We finally arrived at his private home, where a log fire glowed and Christmas decorations sparkled. He took the time to talk to my daughter, and when he showed her the letter she'd written, her eyes almost burst out of her head! That moment was absolutely priceless. We played endlessly into the evening, tobogganing under the stars, engaging in epic snowball fights, and, of course, building a snowman! Each evening ended perfectly with a hot chocolate by the fire, but the fun truly never stopped, as the elves joined us for more entertainment for a final farewell dinner.

Before we left, we had the chance to meet the huskies and be taken on a sleigh ride over a frozen lake – an experience we will always cherish, along with all the other incredible memories. I will never forget this experience. It created so many precious moments that matter deeply to me and my daughter, Lapland is a truly magical and unforgettable experience.
