I love experiencing life with my three children through travel.

There is something indescribable about exploring the world together: discovering new places, near and far, where everything feels fresh and exciting. We might be wandering through a quiet old town, splashing in the sea, or hiking a forest trail, but what really makes it special is that we are doing it side by side.

Watching my children see things for the very first time, hearing their questions, their laughter and their “wow” moments, and being fully present with them in those experiences feels priceless. Travel gives us time together that is different from everyday life, and I treasure that.

Craving Both Adventure and Sanctuary

As much as I love the fun, noise and energy of family adventures, there is another part of me that craves something softer and slower.

I also want luxury, relaxation and retreat: peaceful spaces that feel like a sanctuary, thoughtful touches that make everything feel effortless, and calm corners where I can simply breathe. I am drawn to places that exude understated excellence and a sense of quiet exclusivity.

I love those “Adults Only” vibes: tranquil pools, beautiful interiors, long lazy breakfasts and the feeling that everything has been carefully designed for comfort and calm… just with my children there to share it with me.

Finding that balance matters to me. I want our holidays to feel joyful and adventurous, but also deeply restful and restorative.

Why We Think We Have to Choose One Type of Holiday

So often, these two sides of a holiday are seen as completely separate.

On one hand, there is the classic “family adventure” break: busy, active, full of exploring, experiences and excitement. On the other hand, there is the serene “luxury escape”: slower days, indulgent touches, pampering and peace.

Many clients tell me they assume they have to choose. They worry that trying to blend the two will be complicated, stressful, or that one part of the family will end up compromising for the others. It can feel as though you must either go all-in on adventure or fully commit to relaxation.

It might look like:

• A few days in a more rustic, nature-immersed setting, followed by a stay in a refined, tranquil resort.
