Hello I am Mel Halloway and I am based in the beautiful City of York and have over 35 years experience in all aspects of the holiday industry!

We all spend a lot of time and money arranging our holidays and it is so important to get it right!

I love what I do and I am not bound to any Tour Operators. I am independent and offer impartial advice with the emphasis on providing quality customer service at a time to suit you, which includes evenings and weekends. I can take the stress, strain and hassle out of searching the internet or queuing in a shop looking for that perfect break.

I provide the ultimate customer service experience that you deserve, complete with exceptional after booking care and service. I will see your holiday right through from the booking stage until you return home - a truly personal service. It's all about taking care of you and making sure I find you a perfect holiday and you have a fabulous time!

I am fortunate to have travelled to many places throughout the world including Hong Kong, Bali , Australia, Kenya, Lapland, Thailand, Philippines, America including California, Las Vegas, Florida and New York as well as cruising too! As I’ve been in the travel industry for many years I can help with any travel enquiry that you may have, from Cruising, city breaks, weddings abroad, honeymoons and family holidays. I am a mother of 2 boys, and know how important it is choosing a family holiday and getting it right first time. If you need any ideas or inspiration, I will soon point you in the right direction.

My customers love the fact that they will always speak with me personally. In an ongoing survey conducted by Travel Counsellors, it showed that 100% of my customers would return to me to book a holiday and they would also recommend me to their family and friends. Mel has given us two of the best holidays ever- she is absolutely brilliant and I would recommend her to anyone planning a trip! She has allowed us to travel with confidence without the restrictions of a package holiday!! She is highly organised and listens carefully to what we want from our trips. She gives ideas and different options as well! She can help with anything from just organising flights to planning a complete itinerary - she has done both for us on different occasions! Mel clearly has done loads of research and has experience and a huge database of hotels and taxi/ transfer companies as well as places to visit. From the moment we saw the holiday and contacted Mel everything seemed under control, Mel looked into the itinerary and gave us options of different hotels if she wasn't happy with the reviews and she came up trumps with all her recommendations. The "My TC" app was easy to use, with all the relevant flight, transfer, hotel and document information at our fingertips. Mel also contacted the hotels to let them know it was our anniversary which definitely worked in our favour. If there was anything we were unsure of before or during our holiday she was always available and came back promptly. I would highly recommend Mel to anyone who wants a truly stress free holiday experience no matter where the destination is in the world.

Mel helped me organise and book my friends Hen Party in Malta. With 18 people to arrange for booking was overwhelming but with Mel on board finding the right place took that pressure off me. There was never a time when any question couldn’t be answered for me and believe me there were many!! We have just come back and all of my group were overwhelmed by the organisation and the great accommodation we had for such a low cost. I’m sure it took Mel many hours to get us there but nothing was ever too much for her. The app for payment which can be done monthly was also great and stored all our documents right where I needed them in one place. I honestly can’t praise her enough for the time and effort she took for me. Thank you Mel and Travel Counsellors for providing such a great service. Highly recommended

We wanted to arrange an unusual trip (non-package) and lots(!) of options were provided which allowed us to select the best one for us, in line with our requirements and prices. Mel was really helpful in working out the best routes and flights for a planned trip to Brittany. She arranged hotel bookings and car hire & the whole trip went really smoothly. This is the second trip Mel has organised for me and I really do recommend her. She is knowledgeable and willing to explore alternatives . I've just booked my third holiday with Travel Counsellors and have only experienced first class service. I've been on a 3 day weekend in Dublin and a 2 week 5 star all inclusive honeymoon in Mauritius and both were fabulous hotels with great flight times and I was able to look at lots of different hotels before booking. I wouldn't have any hesitation to recommend to a friend

We have booked several holidays through your company and your representative Mel Halloway dealt with our holidays. She has been very professional with all aspects of the bookings. We had to change resorts due to construction work and she had to make lots of enquires for us to make sure we got the best result. From start of the booking to even returning home Mel was in constant contact and nothing was too much trouble for us. She even arranged a cake and bottle of wine for us at the resort for our anniversary. She is prompt to answer emails and nothing is too much trouble. We highly recommend her to our friends and family and wouldn't hesitate to book with her again.

Mel booked my stag do to Las Vegas, I'd made a few enquiries with high street agents and they didn't seem interested in my money! Mel was a completely different experience, I didn't have to worry about anything! She broke down all the costs and treated me so well. The whole process was so straight forward it made life so much easier. So professional and helpful I couldn't see me getting an experience even close to that on the high street. Competitive price, great flights, seats and help with visas and insurance. It was a great holiday and I couldn't recommend Mel higher if I tried. Great, professional service and I will be returning to book my 2016 holiday! Thanks again Mel for everything
