I have wanted to try this hotel for a number of years after having sent many families there over the years. It didn't disappoint. This is a high quality family hotel in beautiful Playa Blanca. Nothing was too much trouble, from the glass of champagne at check in to the concierge waving you off at the end of you stay!

I have two young children. Neve almost one and Dillon almost four so we knew after four hours on a flight plus the additional travelling that they would be keen to settle in. The transfer from Arrecife was swift in a taxi at just 30 minutes, Dillon was greeted with a balloon, and a glass of champagne for mum and dad. We were given the keys to our room and headed over (past the fish tank aquarium much to the children's delight) to the family area.

The room was a delight. We had booked the Kiko Suite which offered a living space and two separate bedrooms and bathrooms. Dillon's room was decorated just for children and had an Xbox and children's welcome pack. In his bathroom were children's toiletries and a step for easy access to the toilet and sink. He felt very special straight away. Neve's cot was also pre prepared with toiletries a teddy and spare bedding. All the small touches really helped the children settle in and make them feel very special.

Staying in the family wing meant there was an exclusive family restaurant which again eased the stress of dining with young children as everyone was in the same boat. The food in all of the restaurants we went in was excellent and very high quality.

The kids club - Kikoland was in a separate area and all age groups were catered for. There is also a soft play in the main hotel which was great for the few cloudy days we had. Neve enjoyed playing there whilst her older brother enjoyed the many activities of Kikoland.

The hotel is set right on the beach promenade in the resort of Playa Blanca. Turn left from the hotel and you can walk to the Marina and right will take you in along the sea to Playa Blanca with its many bars and restaurants. Outside of the resort Lanazarote has some great family excursions, there is the Submarine ride at Puerto Calero which is also a nice spot for lunch. There is the Timanfaya National park for a trip the Fire Mountains and Rancho Texas Park for a Zoo Marine experience.

All in all a fantastic resort and hotel for a family break and one enjoyed by all.
